Canadian Budget Binder Budget Spreadsheet

Above is a screen shot of The Canadian Budget Binder Budget Spreadsheet that we use In the CBB family- This is an excel spreadsheet that I designed for our budget. It has projected expenses built-in as well as coupon and gift card savings.

Below are the updated 2014 versions of the free budget spreadsheet. Look forward to another upcoming update where I will add in an ongoing tracking system for the projected expenses. Please read all disclaimers before using any information, budgets or downloadable tools from this site. Use at your own risk, we are just ordinary people sharing our own budget with you for free.

Monthly-Budget-with-ability-to-change-catergories-20131-Ver1.2

  • Budget 1- You can use the pre-existing categories or you can use your own if you wish and you have the option to use projected expenses or not. Please read all notes left around the budget for tips.

Monthly-Budget-with-Yearly-Report-and-Graphs-20131-Ver1.2 – Copy

  • Budget 2-Everything is pre-set so you have to use the pre-defined categories but this budget will generate year-end budget figures whereas the other one won’t but you must use the categories already in this budget. If you change anything you will mess up the formulas and year-end figures. Please read all notes left around the budget for tips.

So, if you want to customize it use the first budget but you won’t get year-end reports unless you create the charts yourself or use budget 2 where it is all pre-done for you. All formulas are open so use with caution any downloads you use at your own risk.

If you are not sure what projected expenses are read Step 10 in our budgeting series below.

  3. Hi there
I’ve just downloaded your budget template for excel and have a question. How do I modify the categories for the drop down list? I’ve modified them in the two columns (actual etc) but can’t get the drop down list to change…….maybe it’s because it’s late and I can’t see it….thanks in advance!
    M

    • Hi Michelle,
If you want to modify the category labels there’s a column far far to the right hand side. I don’t know the actual location off the top of my head but there’s a great big red banner above it and you can’t miss it. Change the category names there. If you’ve already changed the category names in the other 2 columns you’ve destroyed the formulas I’ve created and the budget will no longer work. You need to download the budget again. I hope that helps. Mr.CBB

  4. I listened to your interview on Survival Home Network and was interested in the excel templates you have listed above…but I’m getting a 404 error. :(

    • Hi Amanda!!
Thanks for alerting me that the link was broken for that download. I’ve since went in and changed that. The budget you are downloading is not the one we us in the CBB house it’s a very basic budget but certainly works. Just above that link are the two excel budget links in which I designed that you see the photo of. If you have any problems simply email me and I”ll help you out. Welcome to CBB!! Mr.CBB :)
