Forty Year Old Millionaires Explain Their One Million Dollars : Final Net Worth Update December 2017 (+0.34%)

PEACE OF MIND WITH MONEY SHOULD BE A FIRST STEP TO FINDING YOUR RICH   It’s just one million dollars that bridges the gap, not that big of a deal really. Or is it? As your wealth grows the less attractive previous money goals become only because society has groomed us to believe that more wealth is power. For the average person It just buys more shite, that’s all. Last night I watched Drug Lords on Netflix and not only did it open my eyes to the billions of dollars in the drug cartel but just how fast wealth can create a power so terribly wrong that everyone suffers. Greed is a nasty evil that will always come back to bite you in the arse. You don’t have to be a drug dealer to become that powerful person who makes people around you suffer because they are less fortunate or because you believe you’re entitled to be that way. We have more than enough high-society snobbery to  handle that part of the problem but we interests me the most is how many people we’ve met that aren’t that way. How much money you need to live your rich life is […]

3 Budget Guidelines That Fuel Our Financial Success

TAKE WHAT MONEY YOU HAVE AND TURN IT INTO FINANCIAL FREEDOM   If you think setting budget guidelines are financial over-kill than let me tell you how good debt freedom feels–damn good. You can do this too! The idea is to start somewhere small to get to where you want to go that’s far bigger than you have ever imagined. It may not happen as fast as it did for us, but you’ll get there. So go ahead laugh or say you don’t need to push the limits with your budget because I will shout from the highest mountains (right now that’s the snow pile at the end of our drive) that you get out of budgeting what you put in, full-stop. Creating a budget should be the least of your worries when it comes to budgeting because most people don’t even get past the first stages, “thinking about budgeting” As soon as the new year hits this blog gets power-housed from readers all over the world looking for budget tips. That’s refreshing to see but I’d like to see this happen not just in January and February, but all year-long. There are so many free budgets online including our […]

How To Create a Results Driven 2018 Personal Budget Plan

A BUDGET IS NOT JUST ANY BUDGET, IT’S YOUR BUDGET   At the end of each year and during the first month of the new year I often get social media bombed by readers of this blog about creating a personal budget plan. This is great news though because it tells me two things; You want to learn more about budgeting You care about your money It is often this time of year when debt weighs heavy on people because we’ve just finished Christmas and the new year signifies fresh beginnings. I feel as a finance blogger who specializes in budgeting, debt and frugal living that I should always send out a yearly reminder about the importance of budgeting for everyone. This is why financial and personal goals start at the beginning of the year for most people at which time they are 100% committed, for a minute and then forgotten. Don’t lump yourself in that pile because you’ll never get ahead without that drive to succeed. By all means you don’t need to use a budget to be successful but I fully believe that using a budget will always outweigh not using one. Not everyone who wants to start […]

Santa, All I Want For Christmas From A to Z : The Saturday Weekend Review #246

NOT EVERYTHING FOR CHRISTMAS COMES WRAPPED IN A BOX   I often reflect on just how lucky I am to have such a wonderful family and know that I don’t need anything more but happiness in my life. Money is nice too BUT it won’t make or break what it is inside my heart. This has become my new rich and because of the way my financial mind has changed over the years no one can stop me from putting family first, not even money. I won’t make this a long post today because I realize most of you will be out doing some last-minute Christmas shopping, wrapping gifts, baking, drinking, partying and maybe even catching up on sleep.   Just more smiles   Funny how the mind of a child works. Perhaps adults could learn a thing or two about looking outside the box, literally. Yesterday as the doorbell rang and Mrs. CBB opened it to find more Amazon deliveries waiting to be brought in the house. If you’ve ordered from Amazon Canada you know that every box comes with the signature arrow from A to Z. Our son can’t understand why Amazon keeps sending us boxes of smiles. […]
