Low Carb Sugar-Free Salted Caramel Cheesecake

MAKING THE BEST HOMEMADE CHEESECAKE IS EASIER THAN YOU THINK-SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DO IT MY WAY!   A couple who are friends of ours absolutely adore cheesecake so when we invited them over for dessert last week we thought we’d surprise them with this decadent  low carb, sugar-free Salted Caramel Cheesecake. Oh yes, they were surprised! We are also huge fans of cheesecake especially the salted caramel cheesecake but most importantly there must be two things present; Thicker Crust Thick Cheesecake If you can carry out those two aspects of a cheesecake you’ve got yourself a winner. I’m actually quite amazed at how many people think cheesecake is a difficult recipe. That is far from the truth. When we created our salted caramel cheesecake we wanted to keep it simple so our guests could add any variation of toppings we offered. What I like about toppings and cheesecake is that you can add just about anything. Since the CBB house has went low carb and sugar-free just about everything we make takes that path. It has been 2 years since Mrs. CBB gave up sugar and she feels great and doesn’t crave it like she used to. For this […]

Almond Joy Cheesecake

BRINGING ALMOND JOY CHOCOLATE BAR TO LIFE   There is nothing more decadent than a luscious cheesecake especially my latest creation an Almond Joy Cheesecake. My family loves a luscious cheesecake no matter what the occasion, and are always eager to see what I will come up with next.  An Almond Joy chocolate bar was invented in 1948 and for those of you who may not have it available to you might be familiar with the Bounty Chocolate Bar which is basically the same thing. My family love my baking skills so much that they send me recipes and pictures to make for upcoming occasions. I’ve made a large cheesecake and small cheesecakes to share (sometimes), and mini cheesecakes, perfect for that afternoon sweet-tooth. This past Easter I wanted to do something a bit different for my cheesecake creation. I’ve done the traditional New York cheesecake, the copy-cat Cheesecake Factory cheesecakes, (White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle is my go–to Cheesecake it’s simply divine as well as their pecan pie pumpkin cheesecake (great for Thanksgiving) which turned out fabulous. I even have my older sister who has always been intimidated of baking a cheesecake experimenting in the kitchen successfully making my cheesecake […]

Cherry Cheesecake

HOMEMADE CHEESECAKE RECIPE YOU CAN’T RESIST   I promise that if you love cheesecake this will be the last homemade cheesecake recipe you will ever search for. It’s the ultimate creamy cherry cheesecake that everyone will be talking about at your next dinner party. Don’t let the decadent cheesecake scare you away from making it homemade because it didn’t scare me. I watch the food network, family members in the kitchen, read recipes and make mistakes and that’s how I learn to cook and bake. You only fear what you think you can’t do, so try it. Making a cheesecake is very simple to do but like anything takes time and by trial and error you will find what works best for you like I have over the years. Cheesecake has long been a favorite in many homes around the world and if you don’t make homemade cheesecake you know that if you were to go to a bakery you will be paying quite a bit of money for a simple cheesecake.   Store-bought cheesecake   I believe the last cherry cheesecake that I purchased was with my best friend since he’s a big fan of cherry cheesecake (nope he’s […]

Creamy Blueberry ricotta cheesecake

Quick And Easy Cheesecake With Pizzazz   Blueberries are out in full swing for the season so I just had to create another blueberry recipe this week for all of you, and me (I’m the only one who eats these treats). Last week I brought you the blueberry fluff cake and today I have a light blueberry ricotta cheesecake. The blueberry compote (topping) slathered on top was a simple creation that lends the sweetness this cheesecake needs if you fancy a bit of sugar in the bite. The cheesecake itself is not too sweet as I don’t add lots of sugar but the blueberry topping lends that bit of sweetness that you crave. I was puttering around doing a refrigerator clean-out when I noticed I had 2 1lb tubs of ricotta cheese in the refrigerator that needed using up and a container of cream cheese that we took from the freezer to use up. I decided that with the blueberries I had in the freezer I would see what masterpiece I could create in the kitchen.   Ricotta blueberry cheesecake cost   Cheesecake is not cheap to buy and although this may seem costly it is a fraction of the […]

PF Weekly grab a brew #32: Catch me if you can

I’m A Qualified Professional Now Open Wide Catch me if you can, another Frank Abagnale Jr was on the loose and he was just showing Canada how easy it is to be whoever we want to be. Ya, that was a true story that film and why not, if people can get away with something they will do it. Geesh, I don’t think that was what the motivational aspect behind the sayings ‘be all you can be’ or ‘you can do whatever you want if you put your mind to it’ was meant for. Caught you I was a little more than shocked when I read about an underground dentist who goes under the name of Dr. David Wu (not his real name) in B.C who has provided dentistry services to patients in an apartment for many years. This guy has NO, and I repeat NO training as a dentist, whatsoever in Canada. That means that no dentistry schools in Canada have ever seen this guy let alone have them in their data base as a medical professional. Seriously, if you are gripping the bottom of your seat I know what you’re going through. It’s bad enough when I have […]

Strawberry Cheesecake Streusel Muffin (Strawberry Muffin)

WHEN STRAWBERRIES ARE IN SEASON YOU’LL WANT TO ENJOY INCLUDING THEM IN AN ARRAY OF DELICIOUS SWEET RECIPES   Forget about learning how to make a strawberry cheesecake when you can make these strawberry cheesecake streusel muffins to satisfy your sweet tooth. I found this strawberry muffin I created to be a dense white muffin with the amount of eggs I used but moist because of the yogurt. I used the same muffin base similar to my white cake batter that I use for other cakes as I wanted it to hold the strawberries without making the muffin soggy. If you like desserts with strawberries, you might just fancy this strawberry muffin because it’s one of those easy strawberry desserts that don’t take hours to set or cool to enjoy. It’s not often we get strawberries in our house, fresh ones at that and since we had tubs of cream cheese in the refrigerator we got to work in the kitchen. Related: Strawberry Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast What Are Strawberries?   We have wild strawberries growing on our front lawn although they don’t produce any fruit. Maybe that’s a good thing otherwise we’d be holding a strawberry festival out front […]
