Comparing the comparison sites in Canada

COMPARE ONLINE PRICES AND SAVE   If you love to budget your money like we do then the fact that I love to compare prices on just about anything will come as no surprise to you. When I used to live in the UK there were many comparison sites on the web that could compare and select the best choices for just about everything. Anything from the cost of socks to which domestic gas supplier you choose and which home insurance covers the damage if the gas supplier was a bad choice.   UK to Canada   After moving to Canada there didn’t seem to be anywhere near the amount of choices of utility companies, insurance companies etc. That is until I started looking into insurance for my first Canadian car. After reading many stories online about other people’s successful emigration to Canada and how they saved money on their car insurance, following their footsteps should have been fool-proof. The phone was in full use while I phoned just about every insurance agent in the local area and was disappointed at best and totally disgusted at worst with the quotes they were coming up with. Cloth Diapers vs. Disposable Diapers And Your Baby Budget

By: Katrina Deciding whether cloth diapers or disposable diapers are right for your baby budget takes some research. The more you plan the better you will be able to make informed decisions before your baby arrives. Easier said than done, I know I was once in that position and with so much information in books and online it’s hard to figure things out. Sometimes testing out products is the way to go and the only way you will know what’s right for you and your baby. We went to a local baby store to research the cost of cloth diapers and more about how they might work for my baby. I learned one […]

Breaking the Budget: Coffee and Lunch Comparison of 2 Co-Workers

THIS IS HOW EASY YOU CAN BLOW MONEY WITHOUT KNOWING IT   I’ve worked professionally for the past 4 years and faithfully bring my own 20 oz travel mug of coffee and a hot lunch to work daily. I wanted to compare the figures of what I bring to work to a buddy of mine whom I will call Mr. Co-worker. It’s amazing how fast convenience can add up in the budget and before you know it your budget is shot. There really is some merit to saving money by making food at home compared to buying it. Sometimes it’s better when people see the final numbers rather than the small numbers. We tend to look at something as only costing $50 a month for example which is a reasonable expense in the budget but over the course of the year that $50 cell phone bill will now cost you $600 out-of-pocket. If you find that you know someone you are trying to talk some money sense into or trying to teach them the importance of budgeting this coffee and lunch comparison is a great way to tally up the numbers and give them a bit of a wake up call.
