Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownies

EDIBLE COOKIE DOUGH AND BROWNIES   I made these delicious Cookie Dough Brownies when I went to visit my buddy back at the end of 2013. He knows how much I enjoy being in the kitchen so I thought it would be a nice surprise to bring a treat for him and his daughter when I went for a visit. Like myself he loves brownies and cherry cheesecake although I never did get around to baking him one of those like I said I would. Maybe one day. I’ve been meaning to post this recipe for a while now but I had forgotten about it until I found it in my archives which I was scrolling through the other day looking at photos. What I did was I took my chocolate chip cookie and fudgy brownie recipe and created this cookie dough brownie recipe. I’m forever making homemade cookies and testing out new homemade brownie recipes so I figured I could combine the two to make this bar recipe. Why enjoy a regular brownie when you can jazz it up? Don’t get me wrong, I stand by the Classic Fudge Brownie. You only have to look at my Pinterest page […]

Dark alley soft chocolate chip cookies

Chocolate Chip Cookies Spell Love I love chocolate chips cookies and I’ve created chocolate chip cookie recipes many ways by adding bananas to make banana chocolate chip cookies, walnut chocolate chip cookies, double chocolate chip cookies because the variations of making cookies is endless. Forget about buying cookies in bags at the grocery store or from the bakery department as it’s cheaper to make chocolate chip cookies from scratch then it is to buy them pre-made for you. Once you understand the basic chocolate chip cookie recipe you can create recipes for homemade chocolate chip cookies and add all sorts of ingredients to jazz the cookie up so you aren’t always having just chocolate chip. I’m no pastry chef but if you know me you know I fancy cookies and brownies because they are dead easy to make. It’s also and a great way to involve the kids in the kitchen to teach them a lesson or two that they may teach to their own kids one day. Baking with kids Since we don’t have any kids my best friend came round with his daughter and we (well I) asked her if she had every baked before and she had […]

Chunky chocolate chip walnut cookies

Homemade Cookies Baked With Love   You can’t go wrong with chocolate chip cookies with walnuts and a hot cup of tea. I’m a big fan of cookies so I tend to make them often over cakes since I’m the only one who eats them. That and cookies are dead easy to make and don’t cost as much as buying them from the bakery. You can’t compare homemade cookies to bagged cookies either. Growing up my mum made cookies (biscuits) often because she didn’t fancy buying them from the grocery store. My mum used to make cookie baskets for her friends when she went to visit for tea and that was her way of saying thanks for having her and dad over for a cuppa. Saying that I can tuck into a pack of McVities Milk Chocolate Hobnobs any day of the week… (sorry mum) but to buy them in Canada costs a mere fortune so I’ll have to wait until we go back to the UK so I can load up on some good eats. I joke with my sister that we are going to hang outin the grocery store just to pick out all the foods I miss […]

Mr.CBB’s Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Raisin Cowboy Quickies!

If you are in the mood for cookies, try my cowboy quickie cookies filled with oatmeal, chocolate and butterscotch chips and raisins. Seems like a lot but it’s worth every bite especially if chocolate goodness is what you are dreaming of for your sweet treat of the week. I woke up this morning went for a jog in the light rain then came home and felt like something… well, sweet! Since the Mrs. was still sleeping I decided to check our freezer inventory list to see if we still had chocolate chips. I wanted to make a signature cookie for Canadian Budget Binder sort of like the recipe mascot for the blog although it’s in a tight competition with my fudgy brownie recipe that’s loaded with chocolate and walnuts. I must admit I enjoy baking cookies and have done it since I was younger as we helped me mum in the kitchen. I was always wanting to learn from me mum and dad. I found it rewarding when I was able to help or replicate something that they had taught me.  This cookie I’m afraid is the works of my imagination and frankly it turned out pretty darn good. If you want […]
