How We Used The Back Door To Get Ahead Financially : September Net Worth Update (+0.60%)

WE WANTED CHANGE AND WE HAD A CHOICE SO WE DECIDED TO TAKE A CHANCE.   The best use of the letter “C” that I’ve ever made to get ahead in life but it was far from easy. Wouldn’t it be nice to be debt free, financially independent and successful? You’re right it would be like removing a rock from over an ant only to see it still smiling with relief that someone figured out how to save it without crushing him to death. Just because you have a heavy weight sitting on your shoulders that keeps your mind over-thinking day and night doesn’t mean you are defeated and your life is over. It simply means you need to start thinking about taking risks while considering change in your life to get ahead of the money game. It sure would be nice walking through the front door after a lottery win, inheriting big money or graduating from school with a full-scholarship and career offer on the table. Oh, how that would be glorious and for some it is a reality but don’t get your hopes up on dreams unless you follow through to bring them to reality. Since I’ve moved […]

16 Action Steps We Use To Get Ahead Financially : The Saturday Weekend Review #185

YOU WILL NEVER FIND A MANUAL FOR SUCCESS THAT IS WRITTEN FOR YOU- YOU ARE THE ONLY AUTHOR OF YOUR LIFE.   Everything stops for a cuppa tea in our household because it’s during those minutes that we are able to relax, regroup and think about our next action steps. In essence we take a few moments to relax from the stress of our day to see where we are on our path. We were all about frugal living and still are but the emotions we felt when we burned our mortgage papers made us realize that it was all worth it. The smiles and gut-busting screams of relief made it all feel real to us. No more debt, no one can take our life away from us now, we own it. Except for death […]

What pushes people over the edge financially?

It seems like each time September rolls around the media is filled with articles about people who are getting into trouble with the law for reasons relating to money. Financially holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas can be a tough time for people who struggle with their money. Many struggle in silence. It’s no wonder talking about personal finance is taboo especially if people are ashamed of their debt load. This time of year it seems as if we hear more about thefts, robberies, fraud and scams leading into the Christmas holiday. Just the other day on Facebook my wife read a message on a group board from a mom advising other moms to make sure they lock their doors and take their gifts inside as someone had broken into her car and she lost everything. It only took me a few minutes online this morning to read another article about a couple who faked a pregnancy so they could steal products from an […]
