Single Man Wants To Know Where To Find Frugal Sexy Women

A CHANCE MEETING STARTS WITH HELLO   For some people love is more than what you feel in the heart, it’s also about how well you deal with money. Men today just like women are looking for someone who will complement their passion for frugal living. Let’s not forget though that a healthy relationship takes more than just money. That means money is only one part of the relationship pie. Back in 2012 I wrote a post asking whether frugal men were sexy and ever since then I’ve noticed quite a few visits to the blog where men were seeking advice about women. Yes there are men who want to date women who give some thought to their financial future. It’s funny how easy it is to generalize one gender over the other but there are no comparisons as we are both equal. The problem is that most men and women don’t know where to start when looking for love as they age. The older we get the harder dating seems to be especially if a career and family comes first. In our younger years we would go to the clubs dancing every weekend enjoying the night life but that […]

grocery game monthly challenge

The grocery game challenge #4 Sept 23-29, 2013: Does size really matter?

Yes Size Really Does Matter Of course size matters so you should keep your eyes peeled for all marketing and pricing strategies although many are not tricks. It’s up to you as the consumer to find out what the difference is even if it is staring us right in the face. If you are smart about grocery shopping you will always keep size and weight in the back of your mind especially if you aim to stick to your grocery budget. Don’t beat yourself up though if you miss something we all do it and we pay more but what can you do but be aware the next time around. Pricing strategy It’s not the first time I noticed pricing strategies at grocery stores but at Metro the other evening while we were doing a quick run around for coupons and picking up our lotto max ticket we noticed tonnes of Cashmere 8 pack toilet paper reg price $8.33 on an actual sign posted on these skids. My instant reaction was …”yeah right”. It was later in the day but I thought to myself that there is no way I’d pay that kind of money for toilet paper unless I […]

You’re cheap if you decorate rooms frugally

Things To Do When Moving Into A New Home No I don’t think you are cheap and you will never hear me say that, trust me. A friend of my wife who has a great job in a senior level position as does her husband feel that we are too cheap when it comes to decorating our house. I guess everyone has their own definition of cheap and frugal but for us it’s simply spending less when we can. We know loads of people who skim the online ads looking for a deal in their community. Newlyweds and those moving into their first place typically have what they acquired over the years living at home or while away at school. With more and more students exiting school with student loans that may take them years to pay off scouting for discounts on home décor is worth the effort, in my opinion. New home new stuff Everything in Cheryl’s house (changed her name) is pristine and has the price tag to prove it. When we were house sitting their cat on the weekend just going inside their house alerted us to the smell of a new home. She keeps it immaculate […]

The Saturday Weekly Review #28: Frugal fun in the kitchen with basil

Holy basil this year in our garden, I can hardly see the neighbours property through all the basil that has grown. Not really, (that’s my sad attempt at humour today) but it all brings me joy. Just when you thought you wouldn’t have enough, your seeds start sprouting and you have an abundance of green aromatic beauty before you. That’s how I feel after growing basil this year in the planters that I built with leftover wood from building our deck. Over the years we have grown basil in the ground, in stand up pots but we’ve had much more success in the flat wide pots that we continue to use them year after year. Planting basil is not difficult, but if you want to grow basil you have to start early and get your seeds in the soil so they have ample time to grow over the summer. I spent the morning today making a frugal basil pesto. I call it frugal because it doesn’t contain pine nuts or walnuts both of which cost a fortune but we don’t miss that at all. A small jar of basil pesto like in the photo above can run you about $3.99 at the […]
