How To Take A Baby Grocery Shopping Successfully : The Grocery Game Challenge #4 July 27-Aug 2, 2015

A NEW WAY OF SHOPPING   Congratulations new parents! You have to eat so unless you have someone else doing your grocery shopping you need to learn how to take your baby grocery shopping. Parenting…my goodness where do I begin? It’s one of those topics that NEVER ends. When it came to grocery shopping we wanted to know how to bring our baby shopping without pulling our hair out. For many new parents their new lives can be overwhelming with everything from bringing the baby home for the first time to bringing baby outside into a world of chaos and harmony. Many parents focus on germs, illnesses, feedings, diaper changes etc. when deciding whether to venture outdoors but the worst thing you can do is stay indoors all the time. You can still have lots of giggles and kisses outside as you can indoors. One of the most nerve-racking places parents worry about going is to the grocery shopping or shopping in general. Bringing your baby grocery shopping doesn’t have to be stressful so don’t let every comment you read on the internet scare you into hibernating indoors and ordering in until your baby is a toddler. After years and […]

Would you go back if you forgot your groceries? : The Grocery game challenge June 2-8, 2014

IS IT WORTH THE TRIP BACK?   Finding out your forgot groceries at the grocery store can be a big pain but it’s also money out of your grocery budget. Whether you decide to make the trip back to the grocery store if you forgot groceries you paid for depends on a couple of factors. I know we have in the past forgotten something at the cash register because we weren’t paying attention or the cashier didn’t send it down the chute or conveyor. (That’s what I call it). Sometimes items get stuck and if you or the cashier aren’t paying attention a product or many¬† products might get missed going in your shopping bag. Luckily we were in the parking lot when we noticed some of our groceries were missing. Now we seem to go through the self-checkout which makes it a bit more difficult to forget anything because it all has to go on the weigh scale once scanned. You are in charge of your groceries. Depending on what time of the day you shop it can be chaos at the grocery store so things are moving quickly and if you aren’t alert you can miss groceries you […]

Do full-price items make it into your grocery cart? : The Grocery Game Challenge #3 Mar 17-23, 2014

YOU ACCEPT PRICES OR YOU DON’T   Grocery shopping for full-price items makes us cringe but the reality is in some cases you either accept the price or you don’t buy it. At the end of the day it’s either you can afford it or you can’t. If you can’t you don’t buy it and find a cheaper alternative or knock it on the head altogether, if you can. Should I or shouldn’t I? Sometimes when I see people staring at a product in their hand I wonder what they are thinking to themselves. Let’s face it we all talk to ourselves when we grocery shop, admit it. Is this good for me? What are the ingredients? How many calories? What does it cost? Or should I buy it or not? I often think questioning purchase price is the burning question in shoppers minds when they are holding products with a confused look on their faces. Who knows? Many times we convince ourselves that we will find it cheaper even if we have rumbled through the sale flyers for the week. We know that it might mean going from shop to shop looking for an item on sale. One product […]

Do you blow your grocery budget if you rush? : The Grocery Game challenge #2 Mar 10-16, 2014

LET THE GROCERY GAME BEGIN   I guess only you can answer whether you bust your budget on groceries if you are in a rush. I can tell you what our answer to this question is but I’m betting every grocery shopping situation would be different. The key here is not so much the time it’s whether you are prepared the minute you walk through the doors at the grocery store. Alternatively I like to earn cash back on groceries meaning I like to use coupons and other means to trim the grocery budget like just recently learning about Checkout 51. Another way we save is by using our PC Points because saving money is important to us especially when it comes to groceries and other items that we can easily reduce on our own. Free money is good! You may find cash flows in as fast as it flows out if you aren’t watching where you money is being spent. Can you agree?   The grocery rush   Just the other week I watched a mother come zooming in to Wal-Mart with her child who immediately wanted to play on the money operated toys they have in the front […]
