5 Simple Grocery Savings Tips For The Busy Shopper : The Grocery Game Challenge 2017 #4 Apr 24-30

IT’S HARD TO WINDOW SHOP AT THE WHEN YOU’RE IN A RUSH.   If you’re consistently seeing that you’re spending more money on groceries then you’d like to perhaps you’re a busy shopper who needs to back up a step before moving forward. Like a harmless day of retail therapy after work grocery shopping therapy is just as exciting for those who love food. Both of which come with a high price tag if not careful. Do we put enough time and effort into what food we put into our bodies? For the most part I think we buy what we can afford and often go without so we can have something that’s a bit pricey. Those that follow this routine are in-tune with their food expenses and understand the idea behind stretching the food budget. If you have $100 to spend it depends on how many people you are feeding with the $100 and for how long. Those who are shopping for one or even two people at $100 a week every week may be able to afford less for more money. Not everyone wants to get value from their grocery expenses as missed opportunities to save their money […]

The Most Annoying Situations When Buying Groceries : The Grocery Game Challenge 2016 #1 Apr 4-10

SURVEY SAYS…GROCERY SHOPPING FAILS   Buying groceries is a must for just about everyone so unless you have your groceries delivered or rely on a personal shopper you are in charge of the shopping cart. As someone who doesn’t mind buying groceries from a few competitive stores in our area I notice a difference between grocery chains and when it comes to customers we all fail at something on my grocery shopping annoyance list below. Luckily when buying groceries many of us have the option of where we want to shop but for those of you who may live in a small town or who are without transportation or limited transportation you may have select stores to give your business too. Sometimes we have to take the good with the bad when buying groceries because funds are limited and honestly no one store is perfect and never will be. What we can change is the way we are as customers and voice our concerns so the grocery chains and even small indpendent grocery stores hear what the customers need. I’m not that guy who will fill out a customer survey right now because I’m swamped with work but I have […]

Are you a helpful grocery shopper?-The Grocery Game Challenge Jan 27- Feb 2, 2014 #5

HELP IS ONLY A QUESTION AWAY   If you are a grocery shopper and have a question, ask. It’s as simple as that. I’ve always said that there are no stupid questions no matter what situation you are in, even if it’s at the grocery store. It’s always better to ask then to guess especially around you that might know the answer. I believe that learning how to be a smart grocery shopper not only begins with the budget but it begins with you. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve been grocery shopping and another grocery shopper has asked if one of us was an employee because they are desperate for help. In a silly way it’s more the shoppers grocery store than it is the grocery stores store… if that makes sense. We help each other out when we can. I don’t know about you but the last place I want to be without help is the grocery store because I just don’t want to hang out there any longer than I have to. I’d like to think that every grocery store has its ups and downs and busy times so although they are willing to help […]

The Grocery Game Challenge Dec 2-8, 2013 #1: How often do you go shopping for groceries?

SHOPPING FOR GROCERIES WHEN YOU NEED THEM   How often do you like to go shopping for groceries every month? Supermarket shopping is one of the most tedious of all shopping trips for many people but it doesn’t have to be that way as long as you know what you are going in for. A sample shopping list for us each week would include vegetables, protein, grains, dairy and then other things such as spices and flavourings for our food. If you are a smart grocery shopper you know that you don’t have to buy the cheapest groceries or all processed foods for less just to fit a tight grocery budget either. When I lived in the UK it was not uncommon for me to go shopping 2-3 times per week at the grocery store. If you are sticking to a grocery budget and wondering what to get at the grocery store you don’t need to have a cheap shopping list as some might call it just to save money. Some people find they save money if they shop more than once per week because they can find more reduced items or pink sticker items rather than leaving it to […]
