Simple Everything Crisp Bread (Keto, Low-Carb, Gluten-Free)

A LOW-CARB CRISPY BREAD THAT YOU CAN MAKE AT HOME   Yay, for Everything Crisp Bread my friends as this is the cracker bread snack you WILL want to make and it’s SO EASY. Best of all is that you can add your own flavours and you don’t have to enjoy a low-carb, keto diet to love them as much as I do. How cool is that? I like to compare this Crisp Bread to a Ryvita or Wasa bread if you are familiar with that brand from the grocery store but you can make it at home for far less. Keep in mind the texture and ingredients will differ but the crisp nature is what we were looking for as there are others out there that are similar but the crisp factor is missing. Everyone who leads a low-carb lifestyle knows what I’m talking about when they dream about something crispy to eat as it can be tough to create products that offer that satisfaction. The problem with gluten-free is that it lacks gluten which means your alternatives are nut-based for the most part which don’t offer much crisp at all. Mrs. CBB has craved crispy anything for years […]

Easy Keto Strawberry Rhubarb Custard Bars

YOU CAN MAKE ANY FRUIT LOOK AND TASTE DELICIOUS WITH CUSTARD   Some of the best rhubarb recipes start with your imagination and that’s what I did when Mrs. CBB and I created these easy Keto Strawberry rhubarb custard bars. These are going to be the bars you will want to make the next time you have a BBQ or potluck to go to or you are hosting a dinner party. If you are hosting a garden party or participating in one you can make these a couple of days in advance which is great news. No one likes to rush around the night before or the day of. Everyone who eats a sugar-free, gluten-free, low-carb, keto diet knows that having sweets once in a while is somewhat desired just like everyone else. The great part is with nuts and coconut you are able to create so many delicious low-carb recipes from cookies, loaf breads to pretzels and so on. Nuts are the perfect substitution for flour which is a gluten nightmare. With a huge patch of fresh, organic rhubarb growing in our back garden and a recent trip to the strawberry patch we had enough fruit to start baking […]

Blueberry Chocolate Chip Almond Cookies

LOW CARB, SUGAR-FREE, GLUTEN-FREE BRINGS TOGETHER THIS AMAZING KETO COOKIE If you’ve ever had chocolate covered blueberries before and loved them then this is the perfect cookie recipe for you. Blueberry Chocolate Chip Almond Cookies are thick, moist and perfect for dunking in your favourite drink. I am partial to a tall glass of cold milk with any cookies I eat. Every once in a while Mrs. CBB wants something sweet so we work on testing new recipes in our kitchen that are low-carb, sugar-free and gluten-free. Since she’s been eating a keto diet for the past 3 years I’ve become accustomed to being the test-it-husband because if she can get it past me she knows the recipe will be a hit. I was a bit hesitant about the blueberries and chocolate mix but not anymore because they turned out amazing which is why we are sharing the recipe. All recipes we create are tested and loved by us otherwise they don’t make the blog. When you are on a keto diet eating berries is about the only fruit you will get in your diet so adding blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries to your favourite sweets recipes are delicious. The […]

Copycat Starbucks Strawberry Acai Pink Drink Keto Style

YOUR GO-TO SUMMER PINK DRINK LOW ON THE CARBS AND SUGAR-FREE   When Mrs. CBB made her way to Starbucks on the way home from a recent trip she decided to try their popular pink drink known as the Strawberry Acai Starbucks Refresher but keto style. In all honesty she had no idea what she was about to order but the barista was very helpful and together they created a sugar-free Passion-Fruit Strawberry Pink Drink made with coconut milk. Now that the warm weather is officially here we thought no better way to celebrate than to make the expensive grande $6.20 Starbucks Pink Drink at home. This will obviously be a huge savings to the Starbucks Pink Drink lover and for anyone who wants to control the amount of sugar and carbs they are getting in their diet. Before we started our keto pink drink we put our large fancy glasses in the freezer to frost them up. Nothing better than a cold, frosty drink in a frosty mug. Right? Ingredients for Strawberry Acai Starbucks Refresher (these are the original ingredients) Ice, Strawberry Acai Base [Water, Sugar, White Grape Juice Concentrate, Natural Flavors, Citric Acid, Natural Green Coffee Flavor, Fruit […]

Homemade Chocolate Bars with Stevia (Sugar-Free, Low-Carb)

CHOCOLATE CANDY BARS ARE INEXPENSIVE TO MAKE AT HOME WITH THE ADDED BONUS OF INCLUDING YOUR FAVOURITE INGREDIENTS   I’m the kind of guy who doesn’t mind making homemade gifts for the people I love. So, I decided to make homemade low-carb chocolate bars as a surprise for Valentine’s Day to give to Mrs. CBB along with some not-so-crafty decorations that I’m sure she will laugh at. It’s the thought that counts, right? Homemade chocolate bars or other chocolate candies are not meant to look perfect because it is the imperfect that says, “I made this with Love” that matters most. What I love the best is the cost of making homemade chocolate bars vs. store-bought. Before we start this recipe for homemade sugar-free chocolate bars ….. I just want to point out that if you don’t care for sugar-free chocolate you can easily use regular chocolate chips  to make this recipe for homemade chocolate bars. Once you understand the basics of melting chocolate, own the proper tools and have the ingredients on-hand then you’ll be set to go.   Chocolate Bar Mould   To be honest if you don’t fancy the same chocolate bar mould that we use that […]
