Forty Year Old Millionaires Explain Their One Million Dollars : Final Net Worth Update December 2017 (+0.34%)

PEACE OF MIND WITH MONEY SHOULD BE A FIRST STEP TO FINDING YOUR RICH   It’s just one million dollars that bridges the gap, not that big of a deal really. Or is it? As your wealth grows the less attractive previous money goals become only because society has groomed us to believe that more wealth is power. For the average person It just buys more shite, that’s all. Last night I watched Drug Lords on Netflix and not only did it open my eyes to the billions of dollars in the drug cartel but just how fast wealth can create a power so terribly wrong that everyone suffers. Greed is a nasty evil that will always come back to bite you in the arse. You don’t have to be a drug dealer to become that powerful person who makes people around you suffer because they are less fortunate or because you believe you’re entitled to be that way. We have more than enough high-society snobbery to  handle that part of the problem but we interests me the most is how many people we’ve met that aren’t that way. How much money you need to live your rich life is […]

Rich People Don’t Care About Your Life When You’re Poor : The Saturday Weekend Review #194

THE THINGS YOU LEARN FROM PEOPLE YOU DON’T WANT TO LEARN FROM CAN BE DRAINING.   When you’re successful and rich everyone else around you is either rich, richer or poor. There is no in-between because life-style change if adopted can skew the mind even if rich people were once poor themselves. It’s easy to get caught up in the luxury of financial security and for some rich people their life revolves around becoming even richer. They didn’t get where they are without hard work unless of course the money was inherited. This is where the term the “Rich run with the Rich” comes from because what are poor people going to teach rich people who they don’t already know, right? Wrong. As I sit here typing this with a spoon deep in a jar of peanut butter I can’t help but remember what a gentleman said to me at the park on Thanksgiving Day,”Rich people don’t care about your life when you’re poor.” I couldn’t get the conversation I had with him out of my mind. I was out with the family on a lovely Autumn day on my day off  and we decided to bring our son to […]

Free Trial Offer Costs Woman $232 in Credit Card Charges

FREE MEANS YOU PAY NOTHING!   Just because someone says something is free doesn’t mean it truly is free. We hear and see free trial offers all the time for certain products although not all are scams be cautious or it may cost you big bucks. Most often we get suckered into buying something especially if the price is right and marketers know that adding in the word “free” is a sure-fire way to reel people in.   Believing what you read   Living on a budget is not always easy but it doesn’t mean that you have to cut corners or believe everything you read or hear just to save a few dollars. The internet is the worst place for people to shop sometimes because it’s easy to get caught up in fake reviews of products or celebrity endorsements like this CBB fan who wrote to me so she could share her story with all of you. To be honest I have never really given much thought to free trial offers before except for magazines from Rogers but once that free magazine subscription was done we opted not to renew. We didn’t however give out any credit card information […]

Is cord cutting part of your new budget plan?- PF Friday Grab a brew #54

NOT EVERYONE WANTS THE SAME SERVICES   I have to admit that “cord cutting” is not part of our new budget for 2014 but it may be in the future. All that cord cutting boils down to is whether you want to pay for cable TV or not. I’m a huge fan of watching movies but not as much as my wife who is a movie buff and has her fair share of DVD’s, VHS movies (boxes full and she still has the player) and the odd Blue Ray movies these days. When she was younger she had basic cable and loved watching movies so she would buy them at the local Blockbuster or Rogers store as previously viewed for cheaper than buying a ticket to go to the movies. It wasn’t worth it to her besides she got to keep the movie and watch it as many times as she wanted. Many people are doing away with the traditional TV packages from their communications providers simply because the pricing has become so unrealistic, they don’t watch much TV or streaming TV programs is more the way they want to roll. Throw in some free streaming and watching DVD’s and […]
