The Poor People On The Other Side Of The Fence

YOU GROW UP QUICK WHEN YOU GROW UP POOR   Being part of the poor people gang was not something I realized I was part of until I understood what was on the other side of the fence. Just remember this story is through the eyes of what a child hears and sees and not as an adult where we can make decisions based on life experiences. Children see things far different. Back in the 70’s our family was very young and my dad had a decent-paying job in construction and my mom worked in retail for minimum wage. We were part of the working poor who made ends meet and lived pay to pay. There was just my younger sister and I at the time and life seemed as normal as it could be as we went on family vacation to Marine Land, Niagara Falls and African Lion Safari. Those were the good times, best memories but short-lived. There was nothing better than going on a road trip with my family that took us to theme parks where we could go on rides, buy junk food and just be kids. It was nice to see my mom and dad […]

10 Wealth Strategies: How To Train Your Brain To Think Rich – Net Worth Update Feb 2018 (+0.69%)

TO THINK RICH YOU NEED MORE THAN JUST IDEAS! We went from nothing to simple millionaires in 40 years by going to work and saving our money! It took us a long time with plenty of ups and downs but with the wealth of knowledge available today YOUR rich can be done even faster. Can you remember a time when you earned (first job, first career, extra cash), won (Bingo, Jackpot, Contests etc.) or was given money? I can. Perhaps you can recall the feeling that electrified throughout your body as if you had just eaten the biggest most delicious dessert in the world. (that would be brownies for me) Some may describe it as a money high filled with excitement or thrills that lasts until you do something with that money. It’s almost as if a bit of stress is allowed to fall from your shoulders depending on the situation it is feeding. This is the feeling you want to have every day and it’s called financial peace. In order to get to this point you have to train your brain to think rich. This type of mindful financial education comes with a full buffet of rules set out […]

Dangers Of Role-Playing The Rich Life Without Financial Peace : The Saturday Weekend Review #213

WHEN THE CURTAINS CLOSE WHO WILL BE THERE TO SAVE YOU?   I’ve learned that there is no in-between for people when it comes to financial success and what one would consider money failure. Many people either consider themselves rich or poor and that’s what they base financial success on rather than being comfortable in the middle. I’m not going to get into a spiel (shocking I know) about how to save money or get out of debt because I’m sure by now you should know how-stop spending money. Instead I want to focus on financial peace and what it means to you. Have you ever thought about what would bring you financial peace in your life instead of stress? If yes, how are you working towards attaining financial peace? If no, stop trying to figure it all out or pretending you’re someone you’re not for the sake of playing the lead role in a movie about your life that doesn’t exist. Related: How to say No, I’m on a budget. Unanswered questions most often become swept behind and forgotten until it’s too late. Why is it so hard for someone to say, ‘I’m broke‘ or “I just don’t have […]

The Secret Society Of Knock-Off Rich People : Our October 2016 Family Budget Update

THE SHOW MUST GO ON EVEN IF YOU’RE BROKE   I’ve had enough of playing the role of rich person when I’m not and I just want to be normal. This was part of an email conversation I had with a fan who is struggling with guilt over his debt and underlying reasons for wanting to appear rich when he’s just part of a secret society of debt clogged consumers living in Canada. Pretending to be wealthy won’t make you wealthy, it makes you clumsy with your money which can and potentially will affect your present and future. If you truly believe that you can succeed by sloshing through crowds of affluent people with a line of credit or a slew of credit cards will help achieve your fortress then follow your dream.   Upscale performance of a life-time   The most expensive position you will ever have in your career is the one that you created that doesn’t exist. So you landed a role in the movie titled, “Upper Class” and you’re the star of the show. Is that a real Gucci Bag? Heck ya, I bought it when I was travelling in the UK. Lights, Camera, Action…you’re LIVE. […]

Rich People Don’t Care About Your Life When You’re Poor : The Saturday Weekend Review #194

THE THINGS YOU LEARN FROM PEOPLE YOU DON’T WANT TO LEARN FROM CAN BE DRAINING.   When you’re successful and rich everyone else around you is either rich, richer or poor. There is no in-between because life-style change if adopted can skew the mind even if rich people were once poor themselves. It’s easy to get caught up in the luxury of financial security and for some rich people their life revolves around becoming even richer. They didn’t get where they are without hard work unless of course the money was inherited. This is where the term the “Rich run with the Rich” comes from because what are poor people going to teach rich people who they don’t already know, right? Wrong. As I sit here typing this with a spoon deep in a jar of peanut butter I can’t help but remember what a gentleman said to me at the park on Thanksgiving Day,”Rich people don’t care about your life when you’re poor.” I couldn’t get the conversation I had with him out of my mind. I was out with the family on a lovely Autumn day on my day off  and we decided to bring our son to […]
