Chai Spiced Pear Scones with Toasted Almonds

SNUGGLE UP TO THESE CHAI SPICED PEAR SCONES WITH A CUP OF HOT TEA   Chai spices scream winter and combined with pears you’ve got yourself a winning combination which is what inspired these gorgeous Chai Spice Pear Scones topped with toasted almonds. I decided to keep these Chai spiced pear scones plain and simple without any other added sugary glaze or icing on top of them. I didn’t want to turn them into a cake type dessert so going with simple pears scones was the direction I took especially since I’ve cut back on my sugar intake the past two years. These pear scones are wonderful when you want to relax with a hot cup of tea and enjoy a snack or I’ve even toasted them in the morning then topped them with butter. Other types of scones that I favourite are my Pumpkin Spiced Scones, British Scones with Blackberry Apple Jam and for Mrs. CBB she fancies the keto scone in a mug.   What to do with pears?   Pears are one of my favourite types of fruits but they must be ripe for me to enjoy the natural flavour. While out with a colleague at a local coffee shop that sells top of the line bakery items I purchased a coffee and one of their pumpkin scones. I truly was in another place when I was eating that pumpkin scone and I knew […]

Scones with blackberry apple jam and whipped cream

INDULGE WITH THIS SIMPLE TREAT   Scones are one of my favourite treats and something my mum always had baking in the oven just about every week when I was growing up. Today is Mothering Sunday or what you call Mother’s Day here in Canada. My mum has already had her day at the end of April back home in the UK. I keep saying to my husband I should get two Mother’s Day celebrations but he just laughs at me. That’s fine, I don’t need a special day to know my family loves me.   Scones   Today I am going to share with you my mum’s fluffy scones recipe. I loved these English scones as a kid although we would always have to wait until they cooled before eating them with homemade jam. She would make individual scones or a big round scone that could be sliced into big triangles. It was a big bake that day if she was making scones it meant that somebody was visiting and she would be making pancakes and shortbread too. Needless to say I learned lots about baking from my mum because I was always willing to help her out in […]
