How To Make Quick Money From Used Goods

TURN USED GOODS INTO OPPORTUNITY EVEN AFTER YOU’VE USED IT.   When opportunity knocks there are people ready to jump on the financial bandwagon to make quick money even if it means picking up stuff for free. It may be bad etiquette to re-sell free stuff but it happens and it will continue to happen because money is opportunity for anyone who has a financial mindset or a need to survive. Your empty beer bottles, cans or anything that you would consider garbage or junk may be a gold mine to someone who is ready to turn dust into diamonds. Basically, if you’re not looking at everything you buy whether it be new or second-hand as a money-making opportunity someone else will. At least once a month or more if we can Mrs. CBB and I make a trip to the second-hand shops in town to see what new stuff is on the shelves. If you haven’t been it’s a money pot for anyone who is shopping for quick money purposes. The minute we walk through the doors of any second-hand shop we instantly have our money monitor turned on looking for the next opportunity. In a way it’s like […]

Would you give back a $40k find stuffed in a thrift store couch?: The Saturday weekend review #72

FINDERS KEEPERS……   Imagine that your new comfy couch that you just bought from the Thrift Store for $20 is worth more than you might make in your first year after graduation. Going to school and having to furnish your apartment with furniture can be a costly venture for a student on a budget. Aside from going to garage sales or finding free stuff online the next best place is the second-hand shops. You can find just about any type of basic furniture that you need at a second-hand store including couches that really do sell for less. You know after the school year is up you will find that couch sitting on the curb for free or in hopes the city will pick it up and discard of it, no questions asked. A while back we shared a blog post about places to stash your cash around the house and to be honest I didn’t think many people did that anymore. I’m sure there are few and for those that did it was so long ago they likely forgot they even had the money they buried away for a rainy day.   Couch cushion jackpot   I was reading […]

Where can I get cash for second-hand clothes?

EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS   Don’t think that you can’t get cash for second-hand clothes  because you can if you know how to turn used clothes into money back in your pocket.  These days your options span from selling second-hand clothes online to having customers come to your home for a garage sale to visiting a consignment store. There was a time a couple of years ago when we shopped second-hand clothing stores because it was cheaper to buy clothes that were used rather than buying them new. The problem is that so many people are now frequenting these shops that prices have gone up exponentially to the point where you have to justify a purchase price. My new motto is “just because it’s used doesn’t mean it’s a bargain price” and it’s true, if you know your prices when you shop second-hand shops. You will be shocked at some of the prices these days although if you go to the right places you can still save some money. Going into Value Village used to be a fun trip for us because we would try to see if we could find good quality items that we would have to pay […]
