6 Simple Ideas To Generate Cash Money When You’re Broke

THERE’S ALWAYS A WAY TO EARN CASH MONEY PROVIDED YOU’RE READY FOR A CHALLENGE   There are some ways to make cash money when you’re broke but don’t expect to be rolling in the cash without some hard work. With Spring around the corner there will be more opportunities to make cash money rather than shovelling snow and praying you win TV Bingo. Wishing on a star is the worst way to earn cash money because you’re risking losing money you already don’t have to spend.   Cashing out the Cash Money   The first thing someone does when they are broke is find every possible source of cash money then could have. A friend of ours who was strapped for cash went as far cash in her RRSP’s so she could pay off debt. I don’t recommend going this route if you don’t have to however depending on a few factors such as age such as this might be an option. If you are under 30 you’ll have a far better chance of getting back into the investing game with many years to accumulate as opposed to being close to retirement age. Staring at your bank account on the […]

Spring cleanup tips to keep your property looking pristine

LET THE SUN SHINE THROUGH   Today is the first day of Spring! While it may not feel like spring in many places that are still covered in snow, the snow is going to soon start to disappear. The bright, yellow blooms of the Forsythias I am hoping are not too far off, as many say that when the Forsythias are in bloom spring is here to stay.  I’ve already got my spring garden prepared using odd containers I keep around the house. That’s only one step for me getting ready for the spring season. Cleanup of my yard takes top priority this time of year and it should be on your list as well. While spring is my favourite season of the year it always starts out looking pretty yucky. The mud and wet dull looking grass as the ground starts to thaw and reveals of all the garbage and debris that has sat under the snow all winter. A good cleanup of your property and some early maintenance will set you up for a better growing season.   Spring Cleaning Checklist   Mr. CBB has a great list of spring cleaning chores and a good list of reasons […]

How to start your spring garden using odd containers

TIME TO GET YOUR GARDEN READY   Now that spring is around the corner it’s time to get your green thumb ready to start your summer garden. Growing your own garden is rewarding because it can save you a good chunk of money in your grocery budget. Another bonus is that you get to sit down in the comfort of your home and enjoy putting food on your table that you had a hand in growing.   Growing your own food is like printing your own money—Ron Finley   Start your garden seeds   My favourite time of year is coming where I get to start working on landscaping projects for my customers and to get my own vegetable garden ready. Looking outside today it is extremely hard to believe that spring is on its way, but it will be here soon enough. Around this time every year my Spring fever starts to kick in and I can`t wait to see the beautiful green grass that is hiding under the dreaded snow. As long as Old Man winter keeps making his presence known I will just have to deal with it and wait but in the meantime I’ll get started […]

Mr.CBB’s Garage Sale Tips For Buying and Selling Stuff!

Photo Source Garage Sale, Yard Sale,Rummage Sale, Church Sale,Trunk Sale or Car Boot Sale as we call it in the UK  all of which essentially mean the same thing…. cheap prices for “stuff” people no longer need, want or have room for.  The Spring and Summer time are the high times for garage sales especially here in Canada. Warm weather and sun plant the Spring Cleaning bug and sends people into a selling frenzy.  For newlyweds, students, first time home buyers or anyone who wants a bargain now is the time of year to get out and get searching. What’s it like driving Mrs. CBB to Garage Sales…. well, where do I start (I hope she doesn’t read this… I remember when I first settled here in Ontario in 2007 I had never been to a garage sale at someone’s house in my life. I have to admit it can be a bit draining with the wife raging with excitment in my ear. Her hands waving in the air, hurry, I see the sign, look, look, look at all the people, pull over, she jumps outs, nods up and down, side to side, she jumps back in, go,go,go,… oh yes this  does my head in, but […]

Cheap Summer Family Outings-Not Everything Has To Cost Lots Of $$ Money

By: Canadian Budget Binder Have you ever noticed once the winter sets in most people are comfy sitting inside with the family watching movies around the fire, eating popcorn or playing games. Well that gets old, although it’s a fairly cheap night in with the gang. Then suddenly our lawns turn from white to blah and from gremlins to warriors we battle our way to sun, sand, music, parties and the smell of barbeques! (beer in hand I might add) Yes, it’s that time of year in Canada where we start to hear the lawn mowers running, the birds chirping and your neighbours spring cleaning their homes. Then we have the  kids who are anticipating or better yet counting down the last days before summer vacation. We’ve hung up our snow gear to dust off the next seasons attire because it’s time to get out and get moving again. When we think of fun for the family we automatically think money don’t we. Yes money can get you top-notch entertainment but not everything that is fun and educational costs money . Keep in mind not everyone has money to save for family getaways or short jaunts around the city. It also doesn’t make sense […]

Keeping the Costs Down-Spring Cleaning in the Canadian Sunshine!

Spring is in the Air! We’ve been waking up to windows open and the sun beaming down on us in our bed with the birds chirping a beautiful song for a couple of weeks now. You know it’s time to get up when all the familiar sounds, sights and smells engulf your space. Visions of cleaning our home inside and out, top to bottom, fill our heads as I’m sure it does yours. Winter is nice to chill out watching a movie by the fire, so what you shovel here and there but the term “lazy winter” is what it is! The first day of  Spring quickly came upon us yesterday March 20 but for weeks now the weather has been more than cooperative all over Canada and the USA. As the snow began to melt the unsightly landscaping of surrounding houses reminded us that this year was our year~ We await the flowers to bloom and the bees to jump about in their glory. This year is the year we are not only tackling our “Spring Cleaning” chores but have to landscape our property before the wildlife mistake it for their new home.  We will also be using “Vinegar” , baking soda and lemons […]
