Hearty Steak Bakes

STEAK UP YOUR SUNDAY   I’m pretty sure many of you are scratching your heads wondering what steak bakes are but have no fear they are easy to make. The best part is that everyone who loves steak will love a steak bake. We love having a proper Sunday Lunch with all of the trimmings but every once in a while we change it up a bit and go with something non-traditional for our family. As you already know I love stuffing recipes like my homemade perogies, my twice baked potatoes and other recipes that still aren’t published. Being a mom of three it’s sometimes hard to get everything ready throughout the day so planning for me is imperative. From cleaning the house, washing clothes to making breakfast, lunch and supper including a full Sunday meal you want to have some mommy me time. In order for me to make time for myself I need to create that time by finding ways to slim back on time busters in my every day chores. What I like to do is create yummy recipes that don’t need lots of time yet my family loves. Over the years I’ve managed to come up […]

Mr.CBB’s Crock-Pot Beef Stew

If you have a crock-pot (also known as a slow cooker) and ask yourself what to cook in a crock pot besides beef stew, casseroles and soups you are not alone. There are many other easy recipe creations that you might never have thought of to cook in a crock-pot which even had me amazed. I remember the first time a fan told me that she makes a cake in the crock-pot and I thought she was joking, but she was serious. Essentially, it’s because we don’t associate a crock-pot with sweet treats only savoury meals but if we use our imagination coupled with trial and error we never know what magic we can create in the CBB kitchen. I am always on the hunt for new ideas to create slow cooking recipes to add to our recipe book so the wife and I can enjoy a meal without all the hassle and messy clean-up. If you have never ventured into the world of stew and you want to learn how to cook stew, today is your lucky day. Crock-pot cooking, especially for men who don’t fancy cooking, this is one of the simplest ways to create easy recipes right in […]

Mr.CBB’s Sausage Potato Cabbage Tomato Stew

This isn’t your ordinary cabbage stew, this is the Mr. CBB’s jazzed up version. Although I used pork sausages in this recipe (that’s what we had on hand) we normally like to use a lean turkey sausage. There are many meals on a budget that you can create that are healthy and not compromising taste, just ask my friend Bonnie who is on a journey to lose 100lbs. Bonnie creates simple healthy meals and is getting fit on a budget. This stew is an easy frugal meal to make that is also perfect for the budget conscious college students. It’s a stew that eats like a meal especially when you crave that homemade comfort food and want to try something new in the kitchen. You can make a big pot of this Sausage Potato Cabbage Tomato Stew and store the leftovers for a busy day when you don’t have time to cook. Who doesn’t like quick left over meals or meals you can freeze, but don’t forget to keep a freezer inventory list so you know what you have on hand. The great thing about making a stew or pot of soup is the ways you can change it up. If you […]
