Mr.CBB’s Crock-Pot Pulled Pork With Homemade BBQ Sauce

Coming up with an easy pulled pork recipe for the crock-pot was simpler than I thought. Crock-pot cooking (also known as a slow cooker) is the next best thing to having a chef in the house who cooks for you while you are not around. Easy crock-pot recipes are showing up on the web and in cook books all over the world and for good reason. It’s the set it and forget it aspect of the crock-pot that is alluring to men and women who want to cook a hearty home cooked meal but don’t have the time to be in the kitchen for hours on end. My good Blogger friend Aunt B posted this easy recipe for Walnut and White Cheddar Biscuits  that I thought would be perfect for my pulled pork sandwich. I had tried it first with egg and ham in the middle and that is when I thought I might as well try it with pulled pork. As you can see from the picture the biscuit is very flaky and has lots of good flavour. It was better than awesome as the nuts added texture and the cheese added the right amount of bite to the shredded pork. Mr.CBB’s Sausage Potato Cabbage Tomato Stew

This isn’t your ordinary cabbage stew, this is the Mr. CBB’s jazzed up version. Although I used pork sausages in this recipe (that’s what we had on hand) we normally like to use a lean turkey sausage. There are many meals on a budget that you can create that are healthy and not compromising taste, just ask my friend Bonnie who is on a journey to lose 100lbs. Bonnie creates simple healthy meals and is getting fit on a budget. This stew is an easy frugal meal to make that is also perfect for the budget conscious college students. It’s a stew that eats like a meal especially when you crave that homemade comfort food and want to try something new in the kitchen. You can make a big pot of this Sausage Potato Cabbage Tomato Stew and store the leftovers for a busy day when you don’t have time to cook. Who doesn’t like quick left over meals or meals you can freeze, but don’t forget to keep a freezer inventory list so you know what you have on hand. The great thing about making a stew or pot of soup is the ways you can change it up. If you […]

Mr.CBB’s Sloppy Joe~ So Good, So Easy, So Frugal $0.95 each

I was going to BBQ some burgers last night but time out with the boys at the gym brought me back a bit late to turn out my burger recipe. What I do is change it up by turning my lean beef into Mr. CBB’s famous Sloppy Joe’s. The wife and our mates just love these and I also make them when I’m in a pinch just like tonight. The recipe makes 8 Sloppy Joe’s and trust me they will be gone especially if you have hungry mates like I did last night! The cost to make this recipe is  around $0.95 each Sloppy Joe and I was on the top end with prices. This could even be much more frugal than it seems! So here we go…… Total Time start to finish under 30 minutes!
