These are copycat DQ chocolate dipped bananas but in slices and with filling and topping variations. Let your imagination run wild, they're delicious.
Recipe type: Dessert
  • 2 medium bananas that are semi-ripe but not over-ripe
  • 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
  • 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 oz Bakers Dark Chocolate Premium 70% chocolate (or whatever chocolate you prefer)
  • Toppings and Fillings see notes in blog post.
  1. I've included the freeze time in the prep time below but they take about 10 minutes to slice and then prep the toppings and a further 10 minutes to dip them again.
  2. On a parchment paper lined tray slice your bananas ½ inch thick (you can do them as thin or thick as you like)
  3. If you want to add filling now is the time to do so then top with a second slice of banana before freezing
  4. In a bowl add your chocolate and coconut oil and melt over a pot of boiling water. Once melted remove from heat and let cool a couple of minutes then start dipping your bananas one by one.
  5. I used a fork and a spoon to dip them, let the chocolate drain then place them back on my baking tray.
  6. The idea is not to let the frozen bananas melt or the chocolate won't stick well.
  7. If you plan to add toppings like coconut, graham crackers, crushed Oreos do so after you dip the bananas and before you put them back in the freezer to harden up.
  8. Enjoy!!
