The One Million Dollar Frugal Journey Train Ride : June 2018 Net Worth Update (+1.02%)

OUR FINANCE TRACK DOESN’T END AND NEITHER SHOULD YOURS   Money is why we started this blog and we certainly aren’t going to end it just because we’ve reached the one million dollar number that for some reason people think is the big bang theory of finance. How finance began and how finance ends, either you’re broke or you’re worth millions. We aren’t quitting now, not ever (unless we are 6 feet under) and it’s taking me weeks to write this post because I wasn’t sure how to tackle a topic that really was just a number. We’ve learned at CBB there’s more to life than just money however we still need to consider yesterday, today and tomorrow. Somehow debt rules and not from a happy perspective either. Happier has become my our rich and even thought we’ve achieved our one million dollar frugal journey we aren’t stopping now. There has to be a reason why so many people thrive on the million dollar journey yet stumble to get over paying debt or simply understanding their financial health. Give me a million dollars I need a million dollars I want a million dollars Why do so many people want or […]

How To Fight Credit Card Debt With A Balance Transfer Option

A BALANCE TRANSFER MIGHT BE THE OPTION THAT WORKS FOR YOU   Ah, the New Year, a new perspective, a new way of looking at things in our lives. For lots of people the New Year means making resolutions or promises to themselves to stay on track with their goals. Maybe your New Years Resolution is keeping that promise to yourself about quitting smoking and saving money at the same time or just saving money, online trading, starting a budget or starting a new career or second job. Beginning your year with a monthly budget can be a great start to tackling your debt. We’ve been using a budget for a number of years now and track all of our income and spending which includes asking for receipts. Sounds a bit boring but in part this is what allowed us to become debt free before we were 40 years old. Ultimately whether we had debt or not our budget allowed us to see what’s costing us more than it should and to adjust our spending habits to compensate for it. Mortgage Freedom Means You Still Need To Run : Our May 2017 Budget Update

EVERY DAY IS LIKE A FINANCIAL ROAD TRIP WITH BUMPS, DETOURS, GREEN LIGHTS AND FLAT TIRES.   Teach me how to get rich my sister-in-law asks me surprisingly a few weeks back since finding out we’ve been mortgage free 4 years as of May 2017. I don’t know about the “Rich” part but I can certainly talk for hours about budgets, frugal living and the importance of it all.   Mortgage Freedom is just the beginning   Since burning our mortgage papers Mrs. CBB and I have done one thing that some people might stop doing. Do you want to know what it is? Of course you do. Related: How we became mortgage free in 5 years We never stopped with the financial discipline we’ve ingrained into our routine over the past 10 years. Sometimes it’s hard to look back and think it has been that long but not really when you consider the life of a typical mortgage is 20-25 years. I don’t have all the answers but I do know that if you aren’t prepared to invest in your finances then you must deal with what you have. I don’t care if you’re already rich, collecting welfare, earn […]

How to become Financially Free in a How To World : March Net Worth Update (+1.46%)

HOW TO LOSE A GUY IN 10 DAYS…   Remember that movie? Even the relationship industry has poured their hearts out to those in need of motivation for years and making a mint from it. Why? The words How and To can be compared to gold because finding the answers to something you need or want is a relief, a big one. Becoming financially free was something I wanted from a young age even though I was still learning about what the heck it meant. All I knew is that if you needed something you had to have money to pay for it. I knew that you had to work to make money and that it wasn’t always easy to find a job unless you specialized in something that was needed. I ask myself, ‘How to’ do something when I don’t understand what I’m doing and Google it. I did lots of that when I was in University and I still do it today for just about anything I need clarification on. Is it all true what we read online? No, so before you rush out to make millions of dollars from licking envelopes be ready to embrace the good, […]

Dangers Of Role-Playing The Rich Life Without Financial Peace : The Saturday Weekend Review #213

WHEN THE CURTAINS CLOSE WHO WILL BE THERE TO SAVE YOU?   I’ve learned that there is no in-between for people when it comes to financial success and what one would consider money failure. Many people either consider themselves rich or poor and that’s what they base financial success on rather than being comfortable in the middle. I’m not going to get into a spiel (shocking I know) about how to save money or get out of debt because I’m sure by now you should know how-stop spending money. Instead I want to focus on financial peace and what it means to you. Have you ever thought about what would bring you financial peace in your life instead of stress? If yes, how are you working towards attaining financial peace? If no, stop trying to figure it all out or pretending you’re someone you’re not for the sake of playing the lead role in a movie about your life that doesn’t exist. Related: How to say No, I’m on a budget. Unanswered questions most often become swept behind and forgotten until it’s too late. Why is it so hard for someone to say, ‘I’m broke‘ or “I just don’t have […]
