Dangers Of Role-Playing The Rich Life Without Financial Peace : The Saturday Weekend Review #213

WHEN THE CURTAINS CLOSE WHO WILL BE THERE TO SAVE YOU?   I’ve learned that there is no in-between for people when it comes to financial success and what one would consider money failure. Many people either consider themselves rich or poor and that’s what they base financial success on rather than being comfortable in the middle. I’m not going to get into a spiel (shocking I know) about how to save money or get out of debt because I’m sure by now you should know how-stop spending money. Instead I want to focus on financial peace and what it means to you. Have you ever thought about what would bring you financial peace in your life instead of stress? If yes, how are you working towards attaining financial peace? If no, stop trying to figure it all out or pretending you’re someone you’re not for the sake of playing the lead role in a movie about your life that doesn’t exist. Related: How to say No, I’m on a budget. Unanswered questions most often become swept behind and forgotten until it’s too late. Why is it so hard for someone to say, ‘I’m broke‘ or “I just don’t have […]

How To Keep Debt From Causing A Marriage Crisis

EVERY COUPLE HAS A STORY TO TELL BUT YOU PROBABLY WON’T HEAR ABOUT IT.   A marriage crisis is about to turn your world upside down, so what do you do? You write me an email looking for a twinkle of hope. Marriage is knowing you’re in love with someone but not sure if you can continue to love them based on events that occur in future dealings with-in your relationship. This is where YOU needs to become WE. What does this all mean? This means that anything can happen even to couples who are in love. One minute you’re all mushy about each other and the next you’re ringing up the lawyer because you no longer can stand each other. The annual amount of divorces in Canada tops 70,000 according to the feldstein-family-law-divorce-fact-sheet-2016. Not only that but 33% of first marriages end in divorce. Some of the reasons for divorce documented from Stats Canada in the fact sheet states the following; Communication breakdown Unreasonable behaviour Infidelity Midlife crisis Financial issues Physical, psychological or emotional abuse Relationship “runs out of steam”/fall out of love Where did you both go wrong? Most often lack of communication leads the way to a bigger […]

How We Used The Back Door To Get Ahead Financially : September Net Worth Update (+0.60%)

WE WANTED CHANGE AND WE HAD A CHOICE SO WE DECIDED TO TAKE A CHANCE.   The best use of the letter “C” that I’ve ever made to get ahead in life but it was far from easy. Wouldn’t it be nice to be debt free, financially independent and successful? You’re right it would be like removing a rock from over an ant only to see it still smiling with relief that someone figured out how to save it without crushing him to death. Just because you have a heavy weight sitting on your shoulders that keeps your mind over-thinking day and night doesn’t mean you are defeated and your life is over. It simply means you need to start thinking about taking risks while considering change in your life to get ahead of the money game. It sure would be nice walking through the front door after a lottery win, inheriting big money or graduating from school with a full-scholarship and career offer on the table. Oh, how that would be glorious and for some it is a reality but don’t get your hopes up on dreams unless you follow through to bring them to reality. Since I’ve moved […]

Become Debt Free By Asking The Mirror These 3 Questions : The Saturday Weekend Review #192

FIRST YOU NEED TO STOP GOING INTO DEBT BEFORE YOU CAN GET OUT OF IT.   Now is the best time to become debt free and unleash yourself from the daily stress that accompanies owing money for stuff you’ve bought or already enjoyed. Debt is a dark place because you always feel attached to someone who can make or break you financially. Some people feel vulnerable because of money and having to take out loans or putting purchases on credit and they should be. We all are susceptible to the dark alley that accompanies debt if it’s not paid back to whom it may concern. As fast as it’s given everything we own can be taken away. That’s terrifying. Focusing on ways to work harder for ourselves so we don’t have to rely on credit or creating unnecessary debt is possible but without your support you’ll never succeed. Having a student loan or a mortgage is just as important as consumer debt however these are debts that most people have. We take these debts on in hopes of getting ahead financially with a solid career and having equity in real estate. If you want to become debt free and wipe […]

5 Simple Money Rules We Live By To Stay Debt Free

Working Hard To Pay Off Debt May Be Challenging But Staying Debt Free Is Smart Money Management.   If you start by reading this post believing that you will never become debt free not only will succeed but you’ll also carry the burden of debt with you wherever you go. Creating Money Rules are not just for people who are debt free but they are for everyone. It’s important to stop being so negative and start believing that you can pay off debt, save money and become financially free. How else do you think people slay the debt dragon? That’s right they do it by themselves. An email from a reader prompted Mrs. CBB and I to reflect on our life of debt freedom that we achieved just over 2 years ago when we burned our mortgage papers in the back garden. It was a party of two adults carrying on like kids while grilling steak, drinking beer and listening to music. Our lives were about to change but there were no maids, drivers, mansions, private jets, gold credit cards and unlimited sources of income on the agenda. What we were left with was a clean money slate waiting for […]

Stop Blaming The Government For All Of Your Debt Problems

DEBT= Don’t Ever Buy Things On Credit   Debt for most Canadians is still a reality and likely will be for a long time unless something changes but not necessarily from a political aspect but a personal one. Is the Canadian government to blame for all of our debt problems or should we start taking responsibility for the way we are spending and saving money? The past few days I’ve spent what little free time I have in between working 7 days a week, family responsibility and blogging to catch up with what’s happening in the world of Canadian Finance. With the internet flooded with resent for the Wynne Liberal government who are under fire right now especially with the increase in hydro costs that are creating energy poverty for Canadians who simply can’t afford to pay these price hikes. Our hydro has more than doubled in the past year and our habits have not changed which means we continue to be conscious of utility usage. What’s even worse is there are plans in the works to phase out natural gas, homes will need an energy audit when put up for sale and renovations based on energy efficiency. This is […]
