Homemade Chocolate Bars with Stevia (Sugar-Free, Low-Carb)

CHOCOLATE CANDY BARS ARE INEXPENSIVE TO MAKE AT HOME WITH THE ADDED BONUS OF INCLUDING YOUR FAVOURITE INGREDIENTS   I’m the kind of guy who doesn’t mind making homemade gifts for the people I love. So, I decided to make homemade low-carb chocolate bars as a surprise for Valentine’s Day to give to Mrs. CBB along with some not-so-crafty decorations that I’m sure she will laugh at. It’s the thought that counts, right? Homemade chocolate bars or other chocolate candies are not meant to look perfect because it is the imperfect that says, “I made this with Love” that matters most. What I love the best is the cost of making homemade chocolate bars vs. store-bought. Before we start this recipe for homemade sugar-free chocolate bars ….. I just want to point out that if you don’t care for sugar-free chocolate you can easily use regular chocolate chips  to make this recipe for homemade chocolate bars. Once you understand the basics of melting chocolate, own the proper tools and have the ingredients on-hand then you’ll be set to go.   Chocolate Bar Mould   To be honest if you don’t fancy the same chocolate bar mould that we use that […]

Easy Chocolate Pudding

FOR CHOCOLATE LOVERS   We have a play date supper coming up and they’ve requested that I bring my homemade pizza and chocolate pudding. The kids will love my homemade chocolate pudding because of the deep chocolate flavour and silky texture. That’s something you don’t often find in commercial puddings you buy at the grocery store. This time of year chocolate is one product that you will see on all the shelves leading up to Valentine’s Day. In fact you will see chocolate on the shelves for just about any holiday. If you’re smart you will stock up after the holidays so you have a private chocolate stash all year-long. Everyone loves chocolate right? I know I do! (We know Mr.CBB does too!) In our house we love just about any variety of pudding from pudding cake to fruit pudding for a snack or dessert after a nice meal. As a special treat when my children’s friends come over for a visit I like to make them one of their favourites, homemade chocolate pudding. It’s not only easy to make but you will save yourself some money making homemade pudding over buying store-bought. You will always pay for the extras […]

White Chocolate Cherry Muffin

FRESH FRUIT MUFFINS   I’ve never made a white chocolate cherry muffin before but since I had the ingredients on hand I thought I’d get creative with fresh cherries. I am happy I did because they turned out so moist but not sugary like most commercial muffins. I enjoy making white muffins once in a while adding in fresh fruits that I have on hand. One of my favourite white muffins is the blueberry muffin and on occasion I splurge making chocolate chip muffins. Muffins have long since been a favourite as a breakfast muffin or even a snack muffin. I’m pretty sure many of you would rather reach for a muffin over a donut for breakfast but be careful as they are not all created equally in terms of calories and fat content. I find it’s not often though that we see a fresh cherry muffin at the shops and to be honest they should be because they are just as good as any other fruit muffin. A muffin, especially a white muffin is simply cake that you can eat with your hands. So when you think you are eating a healthy muffin just because it has fresh fruit […]

No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Truffles

FOR THE CHOCOLATE LOVERS   I’m a big fan of truffles and chocolate but when you combine peanut butter with chocolate, even better. When you make this easy 4 ingredient chocolate peanut butter truffle recipe the people who sample these treats will be begging for the recipe. I’ve made truffles for a while now and although they are easy many people tend to shy away from them because the name “truffle” sounds posh and must mean they are difficult to make. Hardly the truth as you will find out today. If you are in a pinch and need an easy treat to bring to a gathering you can whip up some truffles in no time. Even dipping the truffles in chocolate is not that time-consuming. You can use the same chocolate dipping process as Mr.CBB does for his peanut butter balls.   Easy dessert recipes   Most people unless they are passionate about baking don’t want to spend any more time in the kitchen baking than they have to. Creating simple recipes is part of what I do because although I love to bake there are times when simple is best. You will see with this truffle recipe that it’s […]
