Scookies Are The Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies
Estimated reading time: 5 minutes
These are the Ultimate Chocolate Chips Cookies made from scratch, and I call them Scookies.
Scookies are the Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies, thick and loaded with chocolate chips.
They are a cross between a cookie and a scone.
No, not Snookies (ha), Scookies, or S Cookies, as in the Italian S-shaped cookies.
I know it’s an unusual name for chocolate chip cookies, but trust me.
I’ll explain.
What Are Scookies?
I’ve made several versions of thick chocolate chip cookies over the years because that’s the way I like them.
These Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies are a cross between a British scone and a soft cookie hence the name, Scookies.
You heard it here first, and I know these Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies will take off like a rocket.
With this in mind, the Scookies will be loved by all chocolate chip cookie lovers across the land.
Indeed, I’m biased, but I ate the entire batch, SO I can confirm they are freakin amazing.
As you’ll notice, they look filled with semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Your observations are correct.
Scookies Portion Sizes
I made eight large Cookies using this recipe using a large ice cream scoop.
However, you can make 12 smaller Scookies to stretch the batch further.
Having the Scookies bigger means more Hershey’s Chipit’s chocolate chips per cookie, far more than if I made 12.
Add more chocolate chips to the cookie dough batter; every cookie will be equally gooey.
Ordinarily, I’m not one for measuring chocolate chips, so the choice is yours.
Cookies Treat For The Family
You won’t find nutritional information for these Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies because you probably won’t care.
However, if you do, work it out yourself with the ingredient list below.
Just eat one of these Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies and savor the moment.
Scookies go with any milk or hot beverage, or you can eat them alone.
For instance, I ate mine with a cold glass of milk one day, and I had a cup of coffee the next.
The Scookies Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies are also peanut-free and perfect for your child’s lunch.
How To Make The Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies – Scookies
Three secret ingredients in the Scookies recipe allowed me to create these Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies.
I used powdered grass-fed gelatin in the cookie dough and Brodie self-rising flour, which we would use in the UK.
Brodie flour is found in most Canadian grocery stores, as we bought ours at Food Basics.
You will wonder why I’ve added baking powder when the self-rising includes it.
This is because they have double-action, so they are thicker chocolate chip cookies.
Specifically, I also added all-purpose flour for this reason.
Lastly, I said Kirkland Almond Flour which you can buy at Costco or Amazon Canada.
There is also a banana in the cookie dough, but you won’t taste it at all.
To explain using the very ripe banana to add a soft texture to the Scookies.

I’m so thankful to find this recipe. There was a sandwich shop in Toronto that made these, Chocolate Chip “Scookies”, that I loved so much. I’d never seen the concept before. The shop moved to Kingston and I’ve missed these treats ever since. Googling for the shop is how I found you! Now thanks to your recipe I have have been able to sort of relive it! It really is superior to a regular cookie. Thanks again. You’ve improved my year.
Hi Alice,
Oh, I had no idea. I just made the name Scookie up off the top of my head because it’s similar to a scone and a cookie. I’m glad that I could improve your year a little. We all need a bit of cheer these days. Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment Alice.

Looks like a good snack!
How much gelatine did you add, always forget how easy it is to incorporate that into recipes, will try this with the kids while on lockdown week. Thanks!!
Hi Diana thanks for alerting me that I forgot this key ingredient. It is 1 tbsp of powdered gelatin. I will add it to the printable recipe shortly. 🤗
Thank you so much for this recipe. This kind of thing is exactly what we need during these virus times. Thank you
I think that’s why I chose it over the many other recipes I have ready to share. Making cookies like this with the kids will be fun during the March break and thereafter. They are loaded with chocolate and everyone will love how thick and soft they are. Enjoy my friend.
