Ways To Cook Yogurt Flatbread

I’ve made and tried this yogurt flatbread three ways, and they all work and taste delicious.
Remember that every air fryer, stovetop, and oven varies in temperature based on make, model, and age.
I suggest staying next to the flatbread while it cooks for the first time to get an idea of the best cooking times.
- Cook the flatbread in a cooking spray-greased pan on medium-high for 3 minutes on each side.
- Use your air-fryer to cook the yogurt flatbread on a paper liner at 400 degrees for 5 minutes, flip, and add another 3 minutes at the same temperature.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, line a baking sheet with parchment paper, add cooking spray, and then bake for 5 minutes on each side.
Adding Extra Ingredients To Yogurt Flatbread
I’ve added salt, crunchy chili oil, and Everything But The Bagel Seasoning for this yogurt flatbread recipe.
You don’t have to add any seasoning other than salt or spices you’d like.
For example, when making a flatbread pizza, I added dry oregano and Italian seasoning to the dough with some salt. It was perfect.
I’ve also tried adding a 1/4 cup of rye flour plus an extra 1/4 cup of Greek yogurt, which was delicious.
However, if you use gluten-free flour, add a pinch of xanthan gum to help bind the ingredients.
The ratio for dry and wet ingredients is always 1:1, so 1 cup of self-raising flour to 1 cup of Greek yogurt.
You can make it yourself with pantry staples if you don’t have self-raising flour.
We buy the Brodie self-raising flour at Food Basics in the baking aisle, or you can find it on Amazon.
Self-rising flour is a combination of all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Chances are high that you already have those staples in your pantry already too. The blend is typically comprised of 1 cup of all-purpose flour plus 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon fine salt. – thekitchn.com
I’ve also made the flatbread using plain yogurt with success, so if you don’t like Greek, try another plain brand.
I suggest playing around with flavors and types of flours to see what you like the best.
How To Make Yogurt Flatbread
Now is the time to learn how easy it is to make homemade yogurt flatbread.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Greek Yogurt
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup self-raising flour or all-purpose flour with 1 tbsp baking powder

Use a large bowl when preparing the dough, so you have enough room to use your hands to mix it.
I start with a spoon but get in with my hands and work the dough for a minute until it comes together.
From there, I flipped it onto a cutting board and kneaded the dough for 3 minutes until it was smooth enough to roll into one ball.
If you find the dough too sticky, add more flour once it comes together.
A dryer dough may occur based on the type of flour or any added extra ingredients.
Let the dough rest for 10 minutes, allowing the ingredients to leaven.
You can cut the dough into four or six, depending on how big you want the flatbread.
Roll the dough with a rolling pin until it is crepe-like, thin, or thicker. *See the photo in the collage below.
Let the frying pan get hot on medium-high, then add a quick coat of cooking spray before putting the flatbread into the pan.
Cook the flatbread on the first side for 3 -5 minutes or until browned, then flip for a minute or two until the other side is golden.
