This is more than your average taco dip…it’s the best dip you will ever make.

Who doesn’t like to dip?

I’m a dipper and by that I mean (not skinny dipper) I like sauces and dips especially when there is a huge tray of vegetables, crackers, nachos, pita chips and anything else that warrants dip on it. Seasonal flavours, ingredients and spices are important when eating as is colour and texture.

With spring dancing on our shoulders and summer just around the corner it’s time to think new party recipes including appetizers to keep guests going until the BBQ gets fired-up.

We all know that once the nice weather is upon us invites to parties, picnics, birthday’s and so on ramp up. This means that having some fun, fast, inexpensive recipes that you can whip up to bring along is essential especially for busy parents.

Just because it says Keto don’t run away my friends because what that signifies to the world is that this creamy avocado taco dip surprise isn’t loaded with carbs.

In fact all the ingredients combined form a powerful blend of what you would expect in a high-end avocado taco dip if you were to buy it pre-made.

You don’t have to worry about that pre-made, over-priced dip anyways because you will want to make this avocado taco dip for your next party, gathering or just to sit in front of the television for game day or movie night.

Not only is is light, airy and packed with flavours but you don’t get all the chunks like you would in a traditional layered taco dip.

I’ve been known to take this avocado taco dip to use as a base for layering the ultimate taco dip.

By ultimate I mean the dip has everything but the kitchen sink mixed in such as re-fried beans, chunky homemade salsa, sour-cream, Franks Red Hot, green olives, jalapeno, shredded cheeses and lots of nachos.

What we love about this avocado taco dip is that there is less mess and guests won’t worry as much that they will spill chunks as almost everyone does with a heartier dip. This is simplicity at it’s finest when it comes to creating a dip that will spruce up the finger foods table.

How to make avocado taco dip

For this avocado taco dip you will find the following ingredients are a must!

  • Green olives
  • Crispy bacon
  • Minced spring onions
  • Frank’s Red Hot sauce
  • Shredded jalapeno cheddar cheese or cheddar cheese
  • Laughing Cow cheese triangles
  • Mayonnaise
  • Homemade taco seasoning
  • Salt and pepper
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Ripe avocados
  • Sour Cream
  • Chunky salsa

The ingredient list is different from your traditional taco dip and that’s because I created it and I didn’t want what everyone else has. You can take this recipe a step further by adding layers of olives, bacon, sour-cream, salsa to pretty it up. Below I will share photos of each, creamy and chunky layered avocado taco dip.

This avocado taco dip recipe is keto friendly so it’s perfect for anyone on a low-carb diet or gluten-free diet. If you choose to go chunky add layers after you make this recipe (see photos). Enjoy
  • 1/2 cup stuffed Green olives
  • 4 strips Crispy bacon broken up
  • 2 Minced spring onions
  • 1/2 cup Frank’s Red Hot sauce
  • 2 cups Shredded jalapeno cheddar cheese or cheddar cheese
  • 6 Laughing Cow cheese triangles
  • 1/2 cup full-fat Mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Homemade taco seasoning (add more if you like more)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Apple cider vinegar
  • 2 large Ripe avocados
  • 1 cup full-fat Sour Cream
  • 1 cup Chunky salsa
  • 2 cloves garlic
  1. Add all of the ingredients into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Using a hand-blender (works best) or add all to a blender to mix it up until smooth.
  3. Pour into your favourite dip serving platter, wrap with cling wrap or cover with lid.
  4. Refrigerate until chilled (overnight yields best flavours)
  5. If you want to layer the dip with chunk you can go ahead and do that now or enjoy it as is.
