Although you may have a Christmas Budget, there are ways to earn fast cash before the holidays.
Some of you might start Christmas shopping during Boxing Day, which we’ve done and saved money.
Due to the pandemic, this Christmas may not be the same for many Canadians as in other years.
There are lots of businesses that are starving for employees and employees struggling to pay the bills.
Also, times will get more challenging if you have bills on hold and owe money to anyone.
While doing our weekly grocery shop, Mrs. CBB and I noticed the prices of everything going up.
Every increase means that a stable grocery budget needs to be reworked into these price differences.
I laughed when I noticed the Butterball turkeys were now almost $50 each when we bought ours for $17.
The turkey was half off on that particular day, and since we hadn’t cooked a turkey, we thought we scored a deal.
Did we ever, and now we wonder if we should have picked up another for Christmas dinner?
It’s times like that when we deviate from the budget because we take the hit when prices are so low.
Luckily, we have a grocery stockpiling spending account for which we keep $25 for these occasions.
Honestly, that’s not enough, and we’ve also noticed that our grocery bill grows at the end of the year.
Years ago, we would spend $250 a month on groceries for the two of us.
Moving forward a few years, we are at $600 a month, although it decreases when she does water fasting.
We also have a 7-year-old son now, but he doesn’t eat much but drinks more than he eats.

I know this may sound impossible; however, I’ll show you what we do if you want to earn extra cash for Christmas.

Rakuten Is The Easiest App To Earn Extra Christmas Money
The most lucrative fast money is Rakuten, an app you can add to your phone, tablet, or desktop.
If you’re like us, we like to stay home instead of Christmas shopping in snowy weather.
Although many Canadians use click-and-collect groceries or grocery delivery, you can save money.
We take the lazy way out and Christmas shop online; however, we save more using Rakuten.
Sign up for Rakuten right now, and then send your referral link to your family, friends, or social media buddies.
If they sign up for Rakuten, you get a whopping $30 in your Rakuten account, and that’s it.
This lucrative cashback offer is only brief, so share your link.
Rakuten will send you what they call a big fat cheque, or you can be paid via PayPal.
Get some friends to sign up every week, and you might even have your Christmas expenses paid for.
Ask For Christmas Lists Early
Start early if you buy for family, friends, or coworkers, or even donate to people experiencing homelessness.
We only have two kids to buy Christmas presents for, plus we pitch in cash for Christmas dinner.
The lists were Playstation 4 Gift Cards for the kids, but we also bought some clothing online.
Using Rakuten above, we visit our favorite clothing stores and look for deals such as Puma t-shirts, Air Jordan tees, hats, pants, and shoes.
It’s better to find a deal online at the store you would drive to, plus add Rakuten for a further discount.
We also visit second-hand shops to see if we can find small gifts for friends and family as stocking stuffers.
Last week, we bought my mother-in-law a fantastic long winter jacket, which she will love for under $20.
Value shopping second-hand won’t earn you money, but it will save you money.
If you shop at Value Village, a tip is that they offer you a 20% discount coupon if you spend $50 or more in-store if you donate something.
Always get that coupon before you shop; I’m sure everyone has something to donate.
Getting early Christmas lists from the kids will help control and find ways to save money on gifts.
A fun tip for the kids is to write a letter to Santa and list what they’d like.
Each year, from Canada Post, you can drop a letter into the mail for free to send to Santa.
Now you know what the child likes, and you can go from there based on your budget.
Black Friday, Cyber Monday Online or In-Store
These are two days that retailers have fantastic prices on Christmas gift ideas.
Most Canadians wait for these days in hopes of saving money for Christmas gifts.
Whether you shop online or in-store, you won’t earn fast money, but you’ll save money.
Someone once asked me what the difference was between saving and spending.
That was an excellent question, and the answer is that sometimes you need to spend to save.
Although you’re not getting cashback in your pocket, you’re saving what you would have if it were the regular price.
If you shop online using Rakuten, go to the same shops, and head to their discount or sale section, you’ll earn even more with cashback.

Babysitting Or Before and After School Care
Since the school year is already in swing, consider setting up a before and after-school care service in September.
There are loads of parents who work when classes get out for elementary school kids and need help.
If you work from home or have spare time to fit before and after-school care into your schedule, you can earn up to $50 per child daily.

You won’t earn fast Christmas money by starting a blog, but there is potential.
When I started blogging, I made my first $100, and now I’m earning over five figures a year.

She found the job through Facebook Marketplace, was interviewed, and got the job.
After work at 3 pm, she drives to the boy’s school to pick him up for tutoring at his house.
If you excel in a particular subject, don’t let it go to waste, as many children need one-on-one help.
I do this with our son, who is autistic, as I was a bit of a nerd in school and loved going.
He seems to enjoy tutoring him, and we’ve seen solid growth over the past two years.

Many people cannot shovel their driveway and path and will pay cash for the help.
Advertise your services on Facebook and Kijiji and have the owner of the home contact you.
You could also add approximate costs based on the driveway size in your ad or when you speak to them.
When you show the numbers in the ad, I often find it will draw more people to your services.
Holiday Baking From Home
Our neighbor makes and sells cupcakes from her home, and she does very well for herself.
You can earn Christmas money fast if you are a great baker and manage at least 12 Christmas cookies, bars, etc.
You’ll see the orders rolling in using the same advertising techniques as above, along with photos of each cookie or bar.
Cleaning Houses For Extra Christmas Money
House cleaning for cash exists, but some homeowners like to hire from businesses for legal reasons.
If you have friends or family who could use a good house clean before the Christmas holidays, offer your services.
Most house cleaners get $25 an hour to clean, but since it’s cash, you could get $15 to $20.
The owner may have specific duties such as cleaning walls and baseboards, dusting, cleaning windows, bathrooms, and the kitchen.
My wife’s friend’s mom did that for years in the ’70s, and it was all cash in hand but stopped because they bought a business.
Extra Christmas Money Is Waiting For You
Don’t wait for any duties or online savings and apps to do the work for you.
They are all easy tasks that could earn you $100 a month or more, depending on how many you take on.
For stay-at-home parents with kids in school, there is always room to make extra Christmas money.
