A Frugal Keto Thanksgiving Meal Plan With Fixings
We’ve had a rough two years as a family, from death to significant health declines, and we have so much to be thankful for.
For Thanksgiving this year, we are blessed to be together as a family, even if it is only the three of us.
We can only hold the memories of the past in our hearts and move forward to create new ones.
In the past, we would go to my wife’s parents’ house for a huge Thanksgiving gathering, but sadly, those days have come and gone.
Now, it’s our turn to start Thanksgiving traditions in our house as a family of 3, which we are excited about.
Our First Keto Thanksgiving
As you all know, Mrs. CBB has been eating a keto lifestyle for three years, and I decided to join her this year to understand it better.
I wanted to know what keto and the food tasted like.
Boy, it was a game-changer for me because I now enjoy the foods I used to avoid, and we’re both shedding pounds.
Mrs CBB has lost over 100 since she started the Keto diet and has never looked back.
Even our doctor is amazed and can’t believe how healthy she is, and her cholesterol reading is perfect.
Keto Thanksgiving Dinner Menu
Below, I will share our Thanksgiving Keto Recipes with you, so if you’re still undecided about what to make, maybe we’ll inspire you.
It took some meal planning because we wanted to make sure that we were choosing keto recipes that were fit for a keto Thanksgiving feast.
I didn’t go into detail about drinks since we often have tea, coffee, and water, but occasionally make a lovely keto lemonade.
Keto Thanksgiving Stuffing Recipe
Although we would have loved to cook a massive turkey for our Keto Thanksgiving meal, we opted for chicken.
We bought a large chicken from Costco and plan to stuff it with a savory Keto Thanksgiving Stuffing using our keto bread recipe.
The idea is to dry out the bread, which is pretty easy, and then make stuffing like usual.

I will teach you how to make Keto Thanksgiving stuffing for your turkey or chicken.
(See Printable recipe below)
- One loaf of keto bread left out for a day so it becomes stale
- 1 cup of pecans, walnuts, and chopped macadamia nuts. These are the best keto nuts to eat.
- 1 medium white onion diced
- 4 stalks of celery chopped
- 1 tablespoon each of Rosemary, Thyme, Oregano and Sage
- 1/2 cup chopped dried apricots
- 1/2 cup unsweetened dried raspberries, cranberries or blueberries (optional)
- 3 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 3- 4 cups of chicken or turkey bone broth
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
Cut your bread into large cubes and toast until golden brown, about 1o minutes at 350 degrees, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Remove from the oven, add chopped nuts, and toast them for about 10 minutes, stirring often. You can do this on the stovetop as well.
Once the bread is cooled, please put it back in the oven for 10 minutes to dry it even further, but at 300 degrees. Watch. They don’t burn.
In a large frying pan, brown your minced turkey or whichever mince you choose with salt until cooked, then drain the fat.
Using the same frying pan as your mince, add a bit of butter and minced onions, cook until translucent, and then add your celery.
Cook the celery and onions on medium heat for about 3 minutes, then add your dried fruits and herbs—season with salt and pepper.
Once cooked, transfer to the same bowl as your cooked turkey mince, and then add your dried bread, eggs, nuts, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
Make sure to coat everything generously.
Transfer your stuffing to a large baking dish and pour 3-4 cups of bone broth over the top if you like a moist stuffing or 2 cups if you like it dry.
Cover with tin foil and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
Remove tin foil and bake for 15 minutes so the top gets golden in color.
Enjoy!
Keto Turkey Stuffing
Making Keto Turkey Stuffing is fairly easy, and you can add or take away any of the nuts and dried fruit ingredients as you like as it’s a versatile recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf of keto bread left out for a day so it becomes stale
- 1 cup of nut such as pecans, walnuts, macadamia nuts chopped up. These are the best keto nuts to eat.
- 1 medium white onion diced
- 4 stalks of celery chopped
- 1 tablespoon each of Rosemary, Thyme, Oregano and Sage
- 1/2 cup chopped dried apricots
- 1/2 cup unsweetened dried raspberries, cranberries or blueberries (optional)
- 3 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 3- 4 cups of chicken or turkey bone broth
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- Cut your bread into large cubes and toast until golden brown, about 1o minutes at 350 degrees, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Remove from the oven, add your chopped nuts, and toast them for about 10 minutes, stirring often. You can do this on the stovetop as well.
- Once the bread is cooled, please put it back in the oven for 10 minutes to dry it even further, but at 300 degrees. Watch. They don’t burn.
- In a large frying pan, brown your minced turkey or whichever mince you choose with salt until cooked, then drain the fat.
- Using the same frying pan as your mince, add a bit of butter and minced onions, cook until translucent, then add in your celery.
- Cook the celery and onions on medium heat for about 3 minutes, then add your dried fruits and herbs—season with salt and pepper.
- Once cooked, transfer to the same bowl as your cooked turkey mince, and then add your dried bread, eggs, nuts, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
- Make sure to coat everything generously.
- Transfer your stuffing to a large baking dish and pour 3-4 cups of bone broth over the top if you like a moist stuffing or 2 cups if you like it dry.
- Cover with tin-foil and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
- Remove tin foil and bake for 15 minutes so the top gets golden in color.
The keto Thanksgiving stuffing will add higher carb counts with the dried fruits and nuts, so enjoy this dish in portions.
If you prefer not to add nuts or dried fruits, that is perfectly fine since this recipe is versatile.
So far, we are having;
- Whole Roast Chicken with butter, sage, Rosemary, salt and pepper on top
- Keto Thanksgiving Stuffing using keto fathead bread.
- Homemade Keto Gravy (using chicken juices, xanthan gum, chicken bone broth, and butter)
Keto Thanksgiving Side-Dishes

Our side dishes will mainly be keto recipes we’ve already created and love.
I know it seems like quite a bit for the three of us, but we plan to have leftovers so we don’t have to cook this week.
The good thing about side dishes is that you only have to add protein in most cases to make it a meal.
- Italian Keto Fried Rapini
- Large Caesar Salad
- Keto Radish Potato Salad
- Green Bean Casserole
- Keto Korean Kimchi
- Lemon Dill Cucumber Salad with Feta

Keto Thanksgiving Desserts

The dessert table is the fun part of our keto Thanksgiving dinner menu.
We didn’t have to give this much thought because we don’t often eat dessert, so we already knew what we wanted.
When we create keto recipes for this blog, they are the recipes we want to try.
So, we only have a few options for our Keto Thanksgiving desserts menu because we will have guests coming over.
We won’t be telling them that they are keto, and I bet they won’t even know the difference. Ha!
- Keto Canadian Butter Tarts (I will make a dozen)
- Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake Bars Keto
- Keto Spice Pumpkin Nut Bread ( I made this last week and froze it ahead of time)
I will also whip up a batch of keto vanilla ice cream to add on the side if anyone wants a scoop for their dessert.
Tea and coffee will also be available for our guests when they come around for dessert.

Being Thankful
Our lives have been filled with so much love and devastation over the past two years that we embrace every minute of every day.
We’ve realized how important our loved ones are and why creating memories is our top priority.
When someone is gone, they are gone, and that’s all you’re left with memories.
So make them last, make them laugh, and make them consistently.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone at CBB, from our house to yours!
We always appreciate your support of our little blog.
Mr. and Mrs. CBB.

Frugal Recipe Find

Something about this No-Bake Pumpkin Pie caught my attention on Pinterest.
I wanted to find a recipe that wasn’t keto, as I know not all of my followers eat a keto diet.
Besides being a no-bake recipe, which is excellent for people who don’t like to bake, the layers of whipped cream look so good.
I find it makes the flavor pop when you add vanilla ice cream or whipped cream to pumpkin recipes.
Home and Blog Update
Blog Update
There’s not much to report on the blog this week apart from the fact that we had a good month in September for blog income, which was nice.
I hope to continue increasing that amount so we have passive income into our retirement years.
Soon, you will see videos on the blog about posts and recipes I’ve created.
It’s nothing fancy, as I’m not one of those guys who will do anything on camera. Haha.
Besides that, a busy blog week, plus the Globe and Mail picked up my article about parents who hoard and kids who have to pick up the pieces when they are gone.
Home Update
I’m almost done renovating the bathroom, which has taken nearly all summer
I know it seems like a long time, but with a child who wants your attention all the time and other family duties, that happens.
Both of us are happy with what the bathroom looks like now, and all we have left to do is buy the shower curtain, towel bar, and toilet paper holder.
I bought three lights on sale at Lowes last week for 50% off, which was a great deal and looks fabulous.
Our herbs are in for the season, and the parsley has returned in full force, so I’ll give it a haircut.
I’ve used quite a bit of my pureed parsley in olive oil and garlic for cooking, which tastes delicious.
I put the rosemary in our upper-level bedroom in the window to keep it alive over the winter.
No promises, haha.
That’s all friends. Have a Happy Thanksgiving, and we will see you all in a couple of weeks for our next SWR edition.

Saturday Search Term Giggles
Every week, I get tens of thousands of people who visit Canadian Budget Binder because they have searched online and found my blog.
Yes, I can see your search terms; sometimes they are funny.
- Getting Caught Working While On Mat Leave – Who has the time?
- Robin HOOT Cherry Cake – Haha, what a hoot.
- By-Pass Walmart Checkout Restrictions – Not sure what this means, but I’m sure it’s illegal
- Avocado Blue Cheese – Now that sounds like an interesting blue cheese flavor.
- Is It Safe To Keep Money In Canada– Well, I should hope so.
If you see the acronym (SIC) next to a word, I’ve copied the text exactly as it was typed in Google, and it has spelling errors.
That’s all for this week, my friends; see you again in 2 weeks for the following Saturday Weekend Review!

Happy Thanksgiving! Thank you for sharing your recipes.
Hey Tre,
Thanks for stopping in. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well. I love Finance and Food, what can I say, haha!!
Everything sounds so good it’s making me hungry! I used to LOVE stuffing as part of turkey dinner but haven’t had it in the 2.5 years since I went GF. This sounds great!
I haven’t followed your journey for too long, so I don’t know the back stories, but I’m sorry to hear about your family losses and health issues.
Hi Kari,
Thanks for stopping in. Yes the past two years have been rough for us but we are pushing through it.
The stuffing is going to be amazing, I can’t wait. What will you be making for Thanksgiving? Are you in the USA or Canada?
