Discover the Rogers Connected For Success program. Offering 1.5 million Canadians high-speed, low-cost internet and TV bundles – Learn more!

Did you know low-income affordable plans are available through the Rogers Connected For Success program?

Connected for Success offers high-speed, low-cost internet and TV bundles to 1.5 million eligible Canadians.

With exceptional bundle pricing, Rogers services help Canadians connect to the Internet and television.

A second program called the Government Connecting Families offers eligible people low-cost internet and television discounts.

At the end of this post is a list of other incentive programs Rogers offers, which I encourage you to read.

I’ll be discussing these programs today, and hopefully, it will help one of my readers save money.

Reducing Household Expenses

Owning a mobile and home phone is nice but not financially feasible for many Canadians.

Although Rogers offers many mobile plans, I found the best deal through Freedom Mobile.

I was gifted a used mobile phone and paid $21.99/Monthly through Freedom Mobile with 5 GB data.

It was and still is the lowest price option for Canadians looking for a cheap mobile data plan with data.

Most people opt for the mobile phone since this technology can manage life.

Whether you are low-income or not, spending less is essential to save money and pay off debt.

Every dollar counts in today’s economy, where many Canadians must decide whether to pay the rent/mortgage or put food on the table.

I’m sure it’s not a favorable place to be financially, and knowing there is some relief available is a good feeling.

I’d want to know if I could slash my internet bill and qualify for a program.

Although Rogers does not offer Connected For Success Mobile, please fill out this form and receive notifications when they launch the program.

So, there will be discounts on mobile phones for low-income earners at some point.

Finding Deals For Low-Income Canadians

Often, I find that readers aren’t aware of programs that can save them money.

For instance, our neighbor who purchased a Dodge Ram told me about the Chrysler AutoAbility program that saved us $750 on new running boards.

Network with friends, healthcare providers, and businesses to ask if they offer low-income programs.

I read a Reddit post about the Rogers Connected For Success program.

That was an important post because I knew I had to tell my readers about it.

Another program is the Ontario Electricity Support Program for low-income earners.

The Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP) is a program that helps those with a lower income in Ontario with lowered electricity bills.

Lastly, some older people are unaware of a non-taxable payment called the Ontario Senior Homeowners’ Property Tax Grant (OSHPTG).

Canadian Government Connecting Families Program

Another program run by the Canadian Government also offers initiatives for connecting low-income families with the Internet.

To participate in the Connecting Families initiative, you need to have received a letter from the Government of Canada.

You can call Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada at 1-800-328-6189 (voice) or 1-866-694-6189 (TTY) for registration support.

We had no idea about this and plan to look into it, for my mother-in-law with dementia pays $81 for Cogeco cable in long-term care.

I’ll update this post once I learn whether long-term care and nursing homes qualify.

The Government of Canada’s Connecting Families initiative, in partnership with Internet service providers (ISPs), helps eligible people get home low-cost Internet services.

The Canadian Government conducts an annual renewal process to verify continued household eligibility.

Once you are offered a code, it lasts as long as the program or individual is eligible.

The Connecting Families initiative is being offered until March 31, 2027.

Service Providers – Connecting Families Initiative

Participating Internet service providers provide eligible households Internet services of at least 50/10 Mbps with at least 200 GB of data usage for $20 per month (plus tax), with no equipment or installation fees applied.

There is also a $10 plan, which remains available to eligible households as an option.

The following Internet service providers are voluntarily participating in the Connecting Families initiative, offering discounted Internet to eligible seniors and families:

  • Access Communications Co-operative Limited
  • Beanfield Technologies Inc.
  • Bell Canada (including Bell Aliant and Bell MTS)
  • Cogeco
  • Coopérative de câblodistribution de l’arrière-pays (CCAP)
